Invitation to attend the National Scientific Conference: Architecture and Culture of Bach Mon Pagoda in the history of Buddhism in Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac

Vietnamese history has always recorded the contributions of Buddhism to the nation. Over two thousand years of existence in Vietnam, through the ups and downs of history, Vietnamese Buddhism has soon integrated into social life, harmonized with the life, activities, culture, and beliefs of the people and become a religion closely associated with and accompanying the Vietnamese people. In the history of Vietnamese Buddhism, it is impossible not to mention Kinh Bac Buddhism - considered the cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism.
Contributing significantly to the historical and cultural values ​​of Buddhism in Kinh Bac region, besides the major Buddhist cultural centers mentioned, it is necessary to mention Bach Mon Pagoda. Bach Mon, with the original name of Linh Cam Tu, is an ancient temple built during the Ly Dynasty and then became a cultural heritage with a long history of beliefs.
Looking back at the history of formation - development, the architectural and cultural value of Bach Mon Pagoda in the historical flow of Vietnamese Buddhism, in general and Kinh Bac in particular, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with the Executive Committee, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Tien Du District, Bac Ninh, Tran Nhan Tong Institute, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organized the Scientific Conference: Architecture and Culture of Bach Mon Pagoda in the historical flow of Buddhism in Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac.
The workshop aims to clarify the architectural, cultural and historical values ​​of Kinh Bac Buddhism as well as the great contributions of Bach Mon Pagoda to Vietnamese Buddhism in general and Kinh Bac in particular. Thereby, honoring the noble values, to cherish the great achievements that our ancestors, as well as the previous generations of Patriarchs, and Buddhists have devoted their efforts. The workshop is also a practical and useful academic forum for scholars studying Buddhism and Architecture, Culture, History, Buddhists, and lay people to better understand the history of the nation as well as the values ​​that Bach Mon has left behind. The success of the workshop will contribute to affirming and promoting the values ​​of cultural, artistic and Buddhist architecture that have been created and cultivated; in order to strongly and firmly establish the position of Vietnamese Buddhism.

- The process of restoring Bach Mon Pagoda, from the inner temple to the system of forming Buddha and Bodhisattva statues using traditional materials.
- Bach Mon's contributions to Vietnamese Buddhism in general and Kinh Bac in particular.

- Bach Mon in the historical flow of Kinh Bac Buddhism and its connection with the temples of the Ly - Tran and Hau Le dynasties in the neighboring area;
- The process of restoring Bach Mon Pagoda and its architectural value from the restored wooden materials to the inner temple to the system of forming Buddha and Bodhisattva statues using traditional materials.
- Bach Mon's contributions to Vietnamese Buddhism in general and Kinh Bac in particular.
