3.Purpose of the discussion
The seminar was organized to clarify the concept of economic, ecological and social transformation (social, ecological and economic transformation – SEET)and challenges in the economic, ecological and social transition in Vietnam; exchange and discuss sustainable development issues and sustainable development policies from the experiences of Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany. The results of the discussion can contribute to promoting interdisciplinary research on sustainable development in Vietnam.

5.Topics expected to be presented in the seminar
- Interdisciplinary and theoretical approaches to social, ecological and economic transformation (SEET) and sustainable development;
- Identify opportunities and challenges in the context of economic, ecological and social transformation in Vietnam today;
- Current status of economic, ecological and social transition issues in Vietnam;
- The role of the Government and stakeholders in planning, implementing and evaluating sustainable development policies;
- Experience in research on economic, ecological, social transition issues and sustainable development policy planning of the Federal Republic of Germany - lessons for Vietnam;
- Propose the development of interdisciplinary research directions on economic, ecological and social transition issues and solutions to apply economic, ecological and social criteria in the policy making process to ensure sustainable development goals in Vietnam.
