For the 2020-21 academic year, the School of Social Sciences and Humanities is invited to nominate up to four of its most promising faculty members to apply to the program. In keeping with the Harvard-Yenching Institute’s mission, nominated scholars must be working in the social sciences and humanities with a focus on cultural studies. The Institute seeks outstanding scholars whose work is more scholarly than applied. Scholars whose research focus is comparative studies, including one or more Asian countries, are particularly welcome.
After reviewing all applications, the Harvard-Yenching Institute will proceed with a focused interview process. Additionally, although there is no age limit for applicants, priority is given to young scholars in the early stages of their research careers.
