Investigative journalists – who are they?
Choosing a career in journalism means that reporters have to sacrifice many things. Especially in investigative journalism, reporters face countless difficulties and dangers. To fulfill their role of exposing pressing and unresolved social issues, investigative reporters must accept sacrificing their own happiness, joy, and peace of mind, even putting themselves in unpredictable and dangerous situations.

Investigative journalism is a sensitive and quiet profession. Thanks to courageous and fearless journalists who disregard danger, the public has the opportunity to learn the truth about "protection rackets at Long Bien market," "the series of contaminated food cases," "the open drug market at a rehabilitation center," or "the case of summoning spirits and vengeful ghosts at Ba Vang pagoda"...

Witnessing that series of investigative reports, society became even more impressed by the efforts and dedication of the investigative journalists. Alongside this admiration, the public grew curious about what these journalists did to produce such high-quality investigative reports. This question wasn't unique to anyone, yet few knew the answer! What difficulties and dangers did these journalists face, and what did they do to overcome them on their path to uncovering the truth and upholding justice?

An opportunity to learn investigative journalism skills.
With the aim of providing journalism students and those interested in journalism with the most realistic view of the profession, specifically investigative journalism, as well as learning investigative journalism skills, the event organizing group of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities planned to organize a workshop on "Investigative Reporting Skills". The event featured famous guests such as VTV3's editor and MC Le Anh, female reporter Nguyen Huyen - the lead author of the investigative series at Ba Vang Pagoda, and a secret guest.

At this workshop, students will have the opportunity to meet renowned investigative journalists and reporters in person, and hear them share the difficulties, dangers, and experiences of their profession. Simultaneously, this is also an opportunity for students to equip themselves with important knowledge and skills for investigative reporting, such as: Topic discovery skills, hidden camera placement skills, interviewing skills, role-playing and impersonation skills, etc.
