The Admissions Counseling Board of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) will answer questions from April 5th to 9th, 2012.
I have a question: I submitted my application to my current high school, but the teachers returned form number two. I noticed that the school requires each application to include two application forms. Will my application be accepted?
ReplyThe application file must include both forms 1 and 2. After verifying the information and signing form 2, the officer collecting the application will return form 2 to the applicant. Please keep form 2 carefully in case you need to verify your application information later.
Dear teacher, I have completed the application form for the university entrance exam, but I noticed in the announcement that the "major" section should be left blank. I applied for the A-level exam in "journalism," and I also wrote "journalism" in the "major" section. Will my application be considered invalid, and will I have to resubmit it? I would appreciate your clarification. Thank you very much!
ReplySince the "major" information section is not mandatory for candidates applying to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, including or not including this information will not affect your application. You have not violated any rules and do not need to resubmit your application.
Excuse me, I'd like to ask if the university is opening a new teacher training program this year? Specifically regarding the history major – the one I'm applying for – I want to specialize in history education. Will I receive a teacher training degree during my studies? I would appreciate your answer. Thank you.
ReplyAt Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the History Education major is awarded by the University of Education. If you want to study this major, register the major name as History Education, major code D140218 in section 2 of the exam registration form, the school name as University of Education, school code QHS, and in section 3, you don't need to write anything.
Hello teachers. Last year I applied to university but didn't get accepted into my first choice. This year I want to retake the entrance exam for my favorite department, Psychology, at the university. But here's the problem: I live in one place, and my permanent residence is in another. So when I need to get the police stamp from the ward, which ward should I go to? Please answer me quickly. I'm studying at my current school and preparing for the exam, so I completely forgot to submit my application. Huhu.
ReplyIn your case, you must obtain confirmation from the local police station in the commune or ward where you have your permanent residence. From now until April 16th, you can still submit your application for the entrance exam at the Departments of Education, or you can submit it directly at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities from April 17th to April 23rd, 2012.
I would like to ask: Are there any height requirements for the Vietnamese Studies program? As a woman, what height do I need to be to be eligible to take the exam? Thank you.
ReplyNone of the academic programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have any mandatory requirements regarding height or gender.
This year, a new exam cluster has opened in Hai Phong for schools located in Hanoi. So why does the school's website state that students in the D1 group must take the exam in Hanoi, specifically at the University of Foreign Languages? If I don't get accepted into my first choice department, can I be transferred to another department within the school if there are still vacancies? If I don't like that department, can I request two copies of my exam score certificate to submit to another school? Where can I get these two certificates? Will the school send them to my home, or do I have to go to the school to pick them up? When filling out the application form, should I pay attention to the numbers 2, 1, 7, and 4 (number 1 should not be underlined, number 2 must be capitalized, not circled, etc.)?
ReplyThe teacher answers each point in your question as follows: 1. Regarding the exam organization: You need to understand that the University of Foreign Languages is responsible for organizing the exam for all candidates taking the D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, and D6 entrance exams for Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This does not mean that all candidates must take the exam at the University of Foreign Languages. If you have permanent residence in Hai Phong or Quang Ninh, you will take the exam at one of the exam centers in the Hai Phong exam cluster. 2. Regarding the exam results notification: If you do not pass the exam for your registered major but your score is above the minimum score set by the Ministry of Education and Training, you will be issued two identical exam results certificates to participate in subsequent admission rounds. Furthermore, if you do not pass the exam for your registered major but your exam score is high enough to be admitted to some other majors with available slots, the University will send you a notification so you can register to transfer to those majors if you wish. 3. Regarding where to receive the exam results certificate: + For successful candidates: The school will send the admission notification to the candidate's family address as stated in the application. + For unsuccessful candidates (except those with code 99): The school will send the exam results certificate through the Department of Education and Training. Candidates will receive the certificate at the place where they submitted their application. + For unsuccessful candidates with code 99: The exam results certificate will be sent to the contact address stated in the envelope submitted with the application (except for those who registered to pick it up at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities). 4. Regarding writing the numbers in the application: Candidates only need to write them clearly.
Hello teachers... This year I plan to apply to the Social Work department at the university, but my parents want me to apply to Oriental Studies because it's easier to find a job later. However, I'm actually more interested in social work. So, I'd like to ask: Suppose I get accepted into the Social Work department, but during my studies I want to transfer to a major in Oriental Studies? Is that possible? And what are the requirements? Do you think the cut-off scores for this year's admissions will fluctuate significantly compared to last year? I would greatly appreciate your advice as soon as possible to complete my application. Thank you very much, teachers...

I am a candidate applying to the Oriental Studies department (D1 group) at the university. The university website states that candidates applying to the D group should submit their applications and take the exam at the University of Foreign Languages. I have already submitted my application at my current school. I would like to ask if, when filling out the application form, I only need to complete section 2 and leave section 3 blank? And do I have to take the exam at the University of Foreign Languages? I would appreciate a prompt response so I can make corrections. Thank you.

I am a private candidate applying to the school this year. I want to submit my application at the school. How should I fill in section 13 of the application form (the "Application Submission Location" and "Registration Unit Code")? I would appreciate your guidance.
Could you please advise me on whether I should study Oriental Studies or Han Nom Studies? I find both fields interesting, but I'm not sure which one offers better job opportunities. If I study Oriental Studies, will I be able to apply for a scholarship to study abroad? Thank you very much.
ReplyIf you submit your application directly at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities between April 17th and April 23rd, 2012, please fill in section 13 as follows: Application submission location: University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Application unit code: 99. Regarding information on Oriental Studies and Sino-Vietnamese Studies, you can refer to the University's list of training programs on this website for more details. Good luck!
Dear teachers, I would like some advice regarding the upcoming university entrance exam. I am applying to the Faculty of Management Science at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. I would appreciate it if you could provide me with some information such as the number of registered candidates, the acceptance rate for the faculty in recent years, predictions for this year, tuition fees, and dormitory details. Does the faculty I am applying to have a computer science program?
ReplySince 2006, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has implemented a credit-based training system for all its academic disciplines. You can find more information about the Management Science program at the following address:

However, I read that Groups A, B, and D don't submit applications or take entrance exams at the university. So, can I submit my application through my high school, or do I have to go to the university in person? Also, could you please guide me on how to fill out the application form? If I fill it out, should I include "the university where I will take the entrance exam" in section 3?

Dear teachers on the admissions committee, I would like to ask a question on behalf of a student: I took the entrance exam for Oriental Studies but my nguyện vọng (preference) is International Studies. If I don't get enough points to get into International Studies, can I transfer to Oriental Studies?
ReplyYou can only register to transfer to the Oriental Studies major in the following case: You did not get accepted into the International Studies major while the Oriental Studies major still has available slots, and your exam score meets the requirements for transfer to the Oriental Studies major. However, based on previous admissions, this situation is very unlikely to occur because the Oriental Studies major usually fills all its slots in the first round, and the cutoff scores have been higher than the International Studies major for many years. Therefore, you need to carefully consider your choice between these two majors. Please feel free to ask further questions.
