On August 14th and 15th, 2011, we received nearly 50 questions from candidates and parents regarding the second-choice application process for the 2011 university entrance exam. Below is a general answer to the questions submitted before 7:30 PM on August 15th. Questions submitted after this time will be answered later.
The following days, from August 15th to 11:00 AM on August 20th, 2011.The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is accepting applications for second-choice admissions nationwide. Regardless of the university they applied to, candidates with the following scores from the university entrance exam are eligible to apply for second-choice admission to the following majors: Sociology (A, C, D), Philosophy (A, C, D), Political Science (A, C, D), Literature (C, D), Linguistics (C, D), Information and Library Science (A, C, D), Classical Chinese and Vietnamese Studies (C, D), Anthropology (A, C, D), and Literature Education (C, D). The minimum application scores for second-choice admissions are as follows: - Group A: 16 points - Groups C and D: 17 points. The above application scores apply to candidates from Zone 3 and high school students. The difference in admission scores between consecutive zones is 0.5 points, and between different groups of applicants is 1.0 point. Admission scores are determined from highest to lowest, based on each subject group and the correlation between groups within the overall enrollment quota of the entire university. Some candidates ask if achieving a certain score level qualifies them for their second choice, but this cannot be answered before the application deadline, as it depends on the number of applicants for each major in each subject group and the individual scores of each candidate. The biggest advantage for candidates this year is that every day at 9:00 AM, the university will publish the list of candidates who submitted their applications the previous day on the university's website. Candidates should regularly check this list. Candidates should note that from August 25th to September 8th, 2011, candidates can withdraw their submitted applications (see specific instructions here), but from September 9th, 2011, candidates are not allowed to withdraw their applications as the deadline set by the Ministry of Education and Training has passed. Some suggest waiting until September 8th, 2011 to submit applications, but this option offers no guarantee because no one knows for sure how many applications will be submitted between September 9th and 15th, 2011. Therefore, the advice for candidates is to carefully consider their application based on their achieved exam scores and to be confident in their choice. Regarding the Literature Education major: Students in this major are exempt from tuition fees. Students study the first three years at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the final year at the University of Education, and receive a diploma from the University of Education.
