Short-term class enrollment: Cuca Uni - Art education project

Providing basic knowledge of art theory, creative thinking methods, expanding the definition of art and the role of art - the CUCA UNI art education project, jointly organized by CUCA Vietnam and the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, provides a different approach to learning, researching, appreciating and practicing art for students of VNU.

The project also aims to develop learners' personal potential, helping them to be proactive in learning and research to equip themselves with knowledge, expand their ability to perceive, enjoy and create for future work and life.

CUCA UNI Art Education Project officially enrolls students in phase I, with 03 courses:

1. Use Art thinking to practice, develop and apply creative ideas

Art is still known as the highest form of human creativity, however, artistic thinking seems (is considered) strange and unfamiliar to most of us. Becoming an artist may require natural talent, but is creative thinking in Art a learned/trained ability?

The course “Using Artistic thinking to practice, develop and apply creative ideas” will help train the approach to problems in work and life from the perspective and thinking of an art practitioner. Thereby enhancing creativity, expanding the limits of thinking to find interesting and effective problem-solving methods.

PROGRAM CONTENT

The course will require participants to work together on a project to solve a goal (often considered a problem) in today's social context. During the course, based on the project implementation process and the problems that arise (in the project, work and daily life), learners will be introduced to and experience the creative process and thinking of art from a practical perspective.

The course does not provide theories, processes, or tools for creativity, but learners will experience and draw their own conclusions about creativity after practicing project work.

OBJECT:The course is for all those who need to improve their creativity to solve problems; are not afraid of working in groups, thinking, debating and are not afraid to face their own limits.

The course accepts a maximum of 20 students, priority is given to those who register early and complete the required financial obligations. The course will close registration as soon as it has received enough students.

2. A Brief History of Contemporary Art in Terms

Understanding Contemporary Art is understanding the transformations of human life in the context of global, cultural diversity and the development of communication technology.

The course provides an overview of some typical contemporary art forms - the first step to help participants read, analyze, perceive and interpret contemporary works of art.

Session 1: Conceptual Art

Session 2: Installation Art

Session 3: Performance Art

Session 4: Video Art

Session 5: Appropriation art

Session 6: Avant-garde

Session 7: Kitsch

Session 8: Summary of knowledge

OBJECT:The course is for all those who need to learn basic knowledge of contemporary art, have the ability to coordinate group presentations, and can read and look up documents in foreign languages.

Participants are required to actively research and present topics in groups with the guidance of lecturers. The program will equip the initial theoretical foundations to help participants read, analyze, appreciate and interpret contemporary works of art.

The course accepts a maximum of 20 students, priority is given to those who register early and complete the required financial obligations. The course will close registration as soon as it has received enough students.

3. Practice basic creative painting

Creative Painting Practice is a course that aims to develop each individual's abilities from practice to in-depth research on painting. The course suggests and shapes the student's own creative style and brushwork, based on the most basic foundations of painting techniques.

The course is suitable for both non-specialist and advanced students.have studied, practiced and learned about painting - The Creative Painting Practice Course is a comprehensive instruction program on drawing techniques from basic to advanced, providing practical exercises on the most basic knowledge in creating art and creating works. In the course, students will be guided through basic techniques from graphite drawing, color drawing, small to large-sized paintings and develop according to each theme to free creations.

Professional instructor: Lacquer painter Hung Khuynh - Lecturer on creative methods: Visual artist Pham Dieu Huong.

PROGRAM CONTENT

PHASE 1 – 6 SESSIONS

General introduction and brief instructions on sketching and recording methods

Drawing: Still Life | Portrait | Bust | Full Body Drawing

PHASE 2 – 2 SESSIONS

Decorative Drawing: Introduces drawing methods and how to get materials for decoration. Practice some decoration exercises.

PHASE 3 – 4 SESSIONS

Composition and color: Still life paintings of flowers and daily objects | Natural landscape paintings | Daily life paintings – portrait paintings | Monumental paintings – Theme paintings – with ideological themes | Free composition

Course summary: Displaying students' compositions, drawing lessons | Commenting on the pros and cons of each lesson | Classifying creative directions - the ability to adapt to each material for in-depth practice

OBJECT:People who are talented and love painting, have never studied painting or have studied painting but due to circumstances could not complete it. Staff and students of other art majors who are talented and want to learn about knowledge and practice of fine arts.

The course accepts a maximum of 20 students, priority is given to those who register early and complete the required financial obligations. The course will close registration as soon as it has received enough students.

PREFERENTIAL POLICY

VNU students are sponsored by CUCA with 40% tuition scholarships for courses in the CUCA UNI program, selected through interviews, students from outside schools receive a 30% tuition discount. VNU lecturers receive a 20% tuition discount.
