The ASEAN-QA project program aims to enhance internal quality assurance capacity in higher education. The program receives funding from international organizations: HRK (German University Presidents Forum), DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), AQAN (ASEAN Quality Assurance Network), AUN (ASEAN University Network), ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), SEAMEO RIHED (Southeast Asian Council of Ministers of Education), and the University of Potsdam (Germany).

The program included training courses on quality assurance and project implementation at universities during the period 2016-2018. Among the 32 Southeast Asian universities participating in the ASEAN-QA project program, six were from Vietnam: the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi; the Foreign Trade University of Hanoi; the University of Da Nang; the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City; the University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City; and the Vietnamese-German University.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) has registered and implemented the project “From Self-Assessment Report to Developing a Culture of Quality at USSH”. The project has three main activity groups: improving English proficiency for staff and lecturers; conducting online surveys to gather student feedback on courses; and innovating the undergraduate programs in Oriental Studies and Philosophy. The project is implemented by the Center for Quality Assurance in Education, the Human Resources Department, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, and the Faculty of Philosophy. The project has achieved certain successes, thereby promoting quality improvement activities as recommended by the AUN-QA external evaluation team, contributing to enhancing the culture of quality within the University.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities reported on the results of the project at the ASEAN-QA Project Program's concluding workshop for the 2016-2018 period and was awarded a certificate of successful project implementation by the Program. In the future, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to implement more activities related to internal quality assurance, promoting educational quality assurance activities, and fostering a culture of quality within the University.
