Following the Northern Student Vovinam Championship last June, the Nhan Van Vovinam Club will continue to participate in the 9th Hanoi Sports Festival from September 25th to 27th, 2017 at the Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium (Hanoi).

Having rested shortly after the Northern Student Vovinam Championship, the students of the Nhan Van Vovinam Club have been actively training to prepare for the Vovinam tournament within the framework of the 2017 Hanoi Sports Festival, which is only held every four years.

In this tournament, in collaboration with the Ba Dinh Vovinam Club and the Greenwich Vovinam Club, the club will compete in both demonstration and sparring programs. These will include solo forms, pair forms, four-person sparring, and especially the attacking leg techniques – the "main course" in Vovinam.

Besides familiar faces who have achieved many high results in previous competitions, such as Nguyen Thanh Huyen, the "Vovinam beauty of the University of Humanities" - a K58 Social Work student (who won a gold medal in Long Ho Quyen and a bronze medal in sparring) or Pham Thi Oanh - a K59 International Studies student (who won a gold medal in Women's Self-Defense)... there are also some new faces competing in the sparring category. Although they haven't been training for long, many are determined to participate to gain experience for future competitions.

This tournament promises to be a major challenge for the Nhan Van Vovinam Club, as it is the first tournament the club has participated in after 3 years of establishment, and it brings together many students from strong units across the capital. We hope that the Vovinam students of the club will continue to win many medals in this tournament to further enrich the club's achievements in 2017.

"The 'Vovinam Queen of the Humanities' Nguyen Thanh Huyen has already won many medals."

The gold medal-winning women's self-defense pair continues to improve in order to compete for medals at the upcoming tournament.

The Vovinam tournament, part of the 9th Hanoi Sports Festival (2017) organized by the Hanoi Department of Sports and Physical Education and the Hanoi Vovinam Federation, will take place over three days (September 25-27, 2017), including demonstrations and sparring, at the Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium (Hanoi).
