The program was attended by Dr. Pham Hong Long (Head of the Faculty of Tourism Studies), Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung (Chairperson of the Faculty of Tourism Studies' Trade Union), Ms. Dinh Nhat Le (Assistant for Political Affairs and Student Services); Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao and Ms. Tran Thai Uyen (Representatives of the University's Youth Union Executive Committee); Ms. Bui Thi Nhan (Director of Ecosea Travel – Representative of the RTC Club); Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam (Head of the National Class Lounge at Noi Bai International Airport); Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Nga (Head of Training Department at Ocean Edu); guest singer Tung Anh (The Voice contestant); and representatives from the University of Culture, the University of Commerce, and the University of Industry. The judging panel for this year's competition consisted of: Dr. Pham Hong Long, Ms. Bui Thi Nhan, and singer Tung Anh.
Before the final round, the organizing committee held an online preliminary round to select the four best teams to advance to the next round. Teams registering to participate submitted a video clip (no longer than 3 minutes) related to the theme "Hanoi – A Time of Fond Memories" to the organizing committee's email address (no restrictions on format). The entries were then posted on the "Youth of Tourism and Humanities" fanpage, and teams had four days, from September 6th to 10th, to solicit votes. The judges scored based on the number of likes and shares to select the teams with the highest number of votes. At the end of the preliminary round, the four teams advancing to rounds 2 and 3 were from: K62 Travel Services, K62 Hotel Management, K60 Travel Services, and K59 Tourism.
Round 2 was the "Stage Performance" round. Teams had 15 minutes to present their performances according to the program's theme: "Hanoi – A Time of Fond Memories." The performances were meticulously rehearsed and staged, evoking strong emotions in the audience. In particular, the musical "Hanoi – A Glorious Era" by the Storm team – K62 Hotel Management – received the maximum score from the judges. The musical was deeply moving, recreating the changes in Hanoi over time and the atmosphere of the days following the liberation of the capital in 1975. It conveyed a meaningful message, reminding young people that even though they live in a peaceful and prosperous era, they must not forget the sacrifices of their ancestors who fell to bring peace to the nation. At the end of Round 2, with a perfect score, K62 Hotel Management officially advanced to Round 3, along with two teams with lower scores: K62 Travel Services and K59 Tourism.
The third round was the Q&A round. The three teams took turns drawing a judge who would ask them a question, and they had two minutes to answer. The questions were all related to Hanoi, such as: “When did the name 'Hanoi 36 Streets' originate, and what are your feelings about Hanoi's Old Quarter?”; “If you could take your friends to visit a place in Hanoi, where would you take them? Why?” The teams remained calm and gave intelligent answers, using their knowledge to convince the judges. The Q&A round took place in a lively and open atmosphere, receiving enthusiastic support from the audience, as this round was crucial to the competition's outcome.
In the end, the awards went to:
- First Prize: K62 Hotel Management
- Second Prize: K62 Travel Services
- Third Prize: K59 Tourism
- Honorable Mention: K60 Travel Services
Also during the competition, Ms. Bui Thi Nhan – Director of Ecosea Travel – representing the RTC office, announced the theme for World Tourism Day 2017. Accordingly, this year's theme is: "Sustainable Tourism – A Way to Develop." This is the message that the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Taleb Rifai, wants to send to everyone, aiming to give people a clearer understanding of responsible tourism through actions such as respecting nature, respecting culture, and respecting the host community.
Earlier, Dr. Pham Hong Long – Head of the Tourism Department – expressed his deep gratitude to the distinguished guests and travel companies for their support and assistance in organizing such activities. This year's program received support from tourism organizations, including a scholarship from Ocean Edu, which was awarded to the Tourism Department during the final night.
The competition is truly a valuable platform for students studying Tourism Studies, as it provides an opportunity for them to enhance their knowledge and become more conscious of cultivating their understanding of culture, society, and history. Through this, they will gain a solid foundation of knowledge about scenic spots across the country, while also contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese tourism on the international stage.

The theme of this year's "FTS Show" competition is "Hanoi – A Land of Fond Memories." "Hanoi – a famous tourist destination, yet also all too familiar. When we think of Hanoi tourism, we often immediately think of city tours around famous landmarks, bustling shopping centers, or tours around the Old Quarter with its familiar addresses. More and more people, especially young people – those with a burning desire to explore and discover – are starting to seek out other places, seemingly forgetting Hanoi." So how can Hanoi's tourism develop sustainably? How can Hanoi achieve the attractiveness it truly has to offer?” The message that the organizers of this year's FTS Show want to convey is: "As dynamic and creative tourism students with fresh and unique perspectives, explore Hanoi in your own way, discover exciting and new experiences in a place that seems all too familiar." And Hanoi, with its ancient culture, old streets, traditional craft villages, and the simple pleasures of Hanoians... in 'a time of fond memories,' could this be a suggestion for you...? The theme "Hanoi - A Time of Fond Memories" was showcased by the teams throughout the competition, from the start of Round 1 on September 5th to the grand finale on September 23rd. |
