Under the direction of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Trade Union of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in the 2016-2017 school year, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities focused on directing and effectively implementing key tasks, programs and plans. The Trade Union of the departments had appropriate and creative solutions to organize trade union activities with good results. The staff and teachers made efforts, overcame difficulties, and strived to successfully complete the tasks of the 2016-2017 school year.
As of June 2017, the School Union directly manages 530 union members. The staff meets the requirements of training standards, professional standards and management standards according to regulations, always seriously and effectively implements the Party's policies, the State's laws and regulations of the industry, is confident in his work, dedicated to his work, has the awareness to improve his professional qualifications and professional capacity, completes assigned tasks, and contributes to the successful implementation of the school year's tasks.
Caring for the lives, representing and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of staff, teachers and workers; participating in management and building harmonious and stable labor relations..Actively participate in giving comments and adjustmentsInternal spending regulations; participate in constructionRegulations on Management Decentralization at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; along with that is the proposal and participation in adjusting, building, and perfecting the system of documents and regulations on union activities of the School. The Humanity Fund is a highlight in the activities of caring for and sharing with the difficulties of workers' lives. Last year, the School's Union considered the Humanity Fund to support 05 cadres with special difficult circumstances with a total amount of 38,000,000 VND. Organized visits and New Year greetings to 10 families of cadres with special circumstances or with serious illnesses, and wished longevity to the four rich mothers of union members aged 80, 85, and 90 on the occasion of the Spring of Binh Than. The work of participating in reviewing salaries, bonuses, regimes, and handling insurance procedures was carried out promptly, ensuring the rights and regimes for cadres. Timely received and reflected the opinions of cadres and civil servants to the School's leaders so that effective solutions could be found. Well organized periodic health check-ups for all cadres and civil servants. The School Union actively cooperates with other mass organizations in the School such as the Veterans Association, the Former Teachers Association, etc. to organize meaningful and influential activities. In the activities to improve the quality of teaching and learning, the Union has coordinated with the government to implement innovative methods, strongly applying information technology in teaching, university administration and scientific research. Actively mobilize cadres and civil servants to participate in using the management software of VNU.
Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Chairwoman of the School Union, Head of Organization and Personnel Department) presented the report on the summary of union activities in the 2016-2017 school year and the orientation and key tasks in the 2017-2018 school year.
Propaganda and mobilization work for teachers and workers to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; Resolutions and policies on trade union work; development of teachers and education managers. The trade union proactively organizes or coordinates with the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department to organize legal education and dissemination (organized separately or combined in preliminary and final review and training sessions). The dissemination content does not stop at disseminating basic laws, decrees and circulars but also includes many management documents of Hanoi National University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in different fields. Thereby, helping cadres grasp the policies, guidelines and regulations of authorities at all levels, especially issues in the education sector that are being implemented. In the 2016-2017 school year, the University appointed new titles for 03 professors and 07 associate professors. The number of Professors/Associate Professors of the School increased to 102 (11 Professors and 91 Associate Professors), accounting for 27.49% of the total number of teachers. 242 staff went to study and work abroad, 233 staff participated in short-term training activities in the country; Organized university pedagogical training courses for 40 teachers, 15 teachers were sent to attend a training course for main lecturers, 48 staff attended a training course to improve English proficiency. The School's Trade Union has actively encouraged union members to perform well in teaching and scientific research tasks. In the 2016-2017 school year, the school's staff published 15 monographs and textbooks, including 02 monographs published in English, 603 articles, scientific reports participating in conferences, published in domestic and international journals, including a total of 42 international scientific reports, including 4 articles in the ISI system, 2 articles in the Scopus system, 36 other international publications. The school won 01 Ho Chi Minh Prize for Science and Technology, 05 VNU Science and Technology Awards. The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities has stabilized and developed well.
In December 2016, the Union successfully organized a seminar on “Union with the study and improvement of young union members”. The seminar attracted nearly 150 young union members to participate with many practical proposals and recommendations for training and improving the professional qualifications of young cadres.
Organize patriotic emulation movements and large-scale social campaigns, like: "Study and follow Ho Chi Minh's moral example”, “Each lecturer is a scientist, a shining example for students to follow."emulation movement"Good at school, good at housework”, “Innovation in teaching and learning", actively respond to the campaign“Support education in mountainous areas, remote areas, and areas with special socio-economic difficulties”…Visiting and giving gifts to disadvantaged students at Van Tho Primary School, Dai Tu District, Thai Nguyen Province - where the school's staff and students were evacuated before. Actively mobilizing staff to donate clothes and books to students in the Central provinces affected by floods. Joining the Trade Union of Cluster 5 of the University to build a public house for Van Ho High School, Son La. Actively supporting the Red Cross Society and the Association of the Blind in Thanh Xuan District. The units that are always pioneers in charitable donation activities are the Trade Unions of the Faculties of Oriental Studies, Management Science, the Trade Union of the Faculty of Linguistics, and the Trade Union III of the Principal's Office.
Innovate the content and methods of trade union activities; improve the quality of staff and the effectiveness of trade union activities at all levels; build strong trade union organizations; participate in building a clean and strong Party. Immediately after the 30th Congress, term 2017 - 2022, the School Union has completed the organization and built the program, the plan of activities for the term and each school year in a serious and scientific manner. The Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the School Union maintain regular activities according to the set plan. The Executive Committee of the School Union always focuses on training, fostering and coaching union officials. Through meetings and activities, the School Union always pays attention to integrating training and fostering to improve union activity skills for union officials; sending officials to fully attend training courses, fostering and improving professional skills for officials. Regularly pay attention to and closely direct the activities of the People's Inspectorate of the unit, ensuring that the People's Inspectorate activities are carried out in accordance with the charter, and perform well the functions and tasks as prescribed by law. During the last school year, the People's Inspection Committee and the School's Trade Union Executive Committee did not receive any complaints or denunciations. The activities of admitting union members and introducing outstanding union members to the Party were well implemented. In the 2016-2017 school year, 15 new union members were admitted; 11 union members were introduced to the Party.
Women's work has many achievements.The School's Women's Union actively and proactively implements activities under the responsibility of the Board. The School's Union always pays attention to encouraging female cadres and civil servants with specific programs such as praising and rewarding female sisters with high achievements in work; encouraging and visiting female cadres and civil servants with especially difficult circumstances; organizing meetings and visiting historical and cultural sites in Hanoi on the occasion of March 8 and visiting and surveying the Stone Church, Phat Diem, Kim Son and Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh on the occasion of October 20. Organizing the ceremony to commend excellent students who are children of cadres and civil servants and the Mid-Autumn Festival for children, Children's Day on June 1 with the form of exciting and attractive stage performances at the Vietnam Puppetry Theater, attracting a large number of children to attend. Mobilizing all cadres to effectively implement family planning work. 100% of union departments have no third child, gender equality work is well implemented. Over 90% of female staff have achieved the title "Good at school work, good at housework"
Foreign affairs activities.Encourage and motivate departmental unions to organize union members to participate in field surveys and exchanges with other unions, in order to expand relationships and understanding, and motivate union members to complete assigned tasks well. In fact, many departmental unions have organized this task well. The University Union is always active and proactive in the activities of the 5 University Union Cluster, contributing to building, promoting the prestige, position and operational efficiency of the 5 University Union Cluster.
Inspection work are seriously implemented, the Executive Board of the School Trade Union and the departmental trade unions operate in accordance with the regulations and Charter of the Trade Union. The Trade Union Inspection Committee actively advises and helps the Executive Board and the Standing Committee to strengthen the work of comprehensive inspection and inspection of the implementation of the Trade Union Charter. The Trade Union Standing Committee well directs the activities of the People's Inspectorate.
Conference to listen to the Financial Report of the School Union
The financial work and economic activities of the trade union are carried out in accordance with the regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, with revenue and expenditure records recorded quarterly and annually, and the Vietnam Education Trade Union approves the annual revenue and expenditure estimates and settlement. The Standing Committee of the School Trade Union actively coordinates with the professional in activities to increase the collective's welfare resources, supplement funds to support trade union activities and improve the material and spiritual life of cadres and civil servants. As a result, the additional income of cadres and civil servants has increased gradually over the years.
In the 2016-2017 school year, the School's Trade Union successfully implemented 6 working programs of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, term XIV, 2013-2018.
During the Conference, 78 individuals and 12 groups were awarded by trade unions at all levels. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Party Secretary and Vice Principal of the School, received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
