Faculty of Journalism and Communication opens new school year

Attending the opening ceremony were Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Van Huong (Head of the Student Affairs Department, VNU), Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Mr. Ho Quang Loi (Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association), Dr. Doan Thi Thuan (Director of the Press and Publishing Department, Central Propaganda Department). In particular, the opening ceremony also had the presence of Professor People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc (former first Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication), a teacher of many generations of students in the faculty, a famous scientist who received the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology, the State Prize for Literature and Arts.

The opening ceremony was an occasion for many generations of teachers and scientists of the Faculty to meet. In her speech at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication) sent her greetings to 148 new students, young people who had excelled over nearly 2,000 applications to become students of the Faculty's 62nd course, with an impressive high entrance score of 26.5 points for both Journalism and Public Relations.

Over the years, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication has been striving to innovate and improve its research and training activities in journalism and communication to reach regional and international standards. Studying and training in the leading journalism training and research environment in Vietnam, students are not only exposed to and imparted with fundamental knowledge of the social sciences and humanities - important knowledge bases that help journalists write articles that touch people's hearts with cultural depth and comprehensive social understanding - but also directly receive professional training from good journalists. The Faculty, the School and society expect that in the future, they will become genuine journalists and communicators, a support for society in terms of accuracy, objectivity and impartiality in information transmission. They will not only be journalists with good professional skills and clear professional ethics, but also have a strong political stance, know how to spread noble ideas, and multiply humanistic values ​​in society.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Journalists Association for her outstanding achievements in the Association's work.

Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Xuan Son, on behalf of the Journalists Association of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, received a certificate of merit from the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Representing the school’s leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan said: The Faculty of Journalism and Communication has always been proactive in taking the lead in the school’s innovation policies, not only being a unit with a high position in the school but also building prestige and brand in society. Students of the Faculty of Journalism and Public Relations have always shown dynamism and positivity in learning, research and social activities. With that foundation, the school expects and believes in even more outstanding achievements of the collective of teachers and students of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication in the coming school year.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong presented awards to two new students who were valedictorians in the Journalism and Public Relations majors in the recent entrance exam.

Journalist Ta Bich Loan (Head of VTV3, Head of Radio and Television Department, Faculty of Journalism and Communication) presented awards to students with excellent academic achievements in the past school year.

Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Xuan Son and Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen presented awards to students with outstanding achievements in Youth Union and Association work.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Thai and Master, Vu Tra My presented awards to students with difficult circumstances but still strived to study well.

Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc received a bouquet of flowers expressing gratitude and respect from students of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication.
