On November 23rd, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector – along with the Dean and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management, received and worked with a delegation from the International Association of French-speaking countries' archives, led by Mr. Claude De Moreau – President of the Association.During the meeting, leaders from both sides discussed prospects for future cooperation: inviting experts from the International Association of French-speaking countries to lecture to students and trainees of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management; collaborating with universities in the French-speaking community to train archival staff; jointly organizing international conferences on archiving; and sharing information through the Association's electronic information portal. Both sides expressed their desire to cooperate, support, and connect with each other for information exchange. The International Association of French-speaking countries (AIAF) was established in 1989 and comprises organizations and individuals interested in the management and preservation of archival documents and the training of archival staff. The Association's goal is to facilitate and develop cooperation among member countries. By joining this organization, archival agencies in French-speaking countries will have the opportunity to exchange and cooperate in the field of archiving. Since 1986, Vietnam has officially been a member of the International Council of Archives and the Southeast Asian Regional Archives Branch. On July 27, 1991, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers signed a document approving the Vietnam State Archives Department's membership in the International Association of French-speaking countries.
