Cooperation opportunity with the International Association of French-speaking Archives

On November 23, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal - and the Board of Directors of the Department of Archival Science and Office Management received and worked with the delegation of the International Association of Archives of French-speaking countries led by Mr. Claude De Moreau - President of the Association.At the meeting, the leaders of both sides discussed the prospects for future cooperation: inviting experts from the International Association of French-speaking Archival Countries to lecture to students and trainees of the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Administration; collaborating with universities in the French-speaking community to train archival staff; coordinating the organization of international conferences on archival work; sharing information through the Association's electronic information portal... Both sides expressed their desire to cooperate, support, and connect and exchange information with each other. The International Association of French-speaking Archival Countries (AIAF) was established in 1989, with members being organizations and individuals interested in the management and preservation of archival documents and the training of archival staff. The Association's goal is to facilitate and develop cooperation between member countries. By participating in this organization, archival agencies in French-speaking countries will have the opportunity to exchange and cooperate in the field of archival work. Since 1986, Vietnam has officially become a member of the International Council of Archives and the Southeast Asia Regional Archives Branch. On July 27, 1991, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers signed an official dispatch agreeing to allow the State Archives of Vietnam to join the International Association of Archives of French-speaking countries.
