The Congress listened to the summary report of the Trade Union for the 2012-2014 term, the direction of activities for the 2014-2019 term, elected the new Executive Committee and approved the Congress Resolution.
The Trade Union of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication are considered to be a positive element, playing an important role in launching movements, creating an exciting competitive atmosphere in all aspects of the two units' activities. The quality of research and teaching has been improved. The training types of the Faculty have been developed in both breadth and depth. 2013-2014 was the first year the Faculty opened a new training major, Public Relations. Although the last term was a period when the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication faced new challenges and requirements, the two units have successfully completed the set targets and tasks.
To achieve the above achievements, the Union not only actively participates in major development orientations but also closely follows each specific activity area such as training, education, teaching organization, examinations, rewards, discipline... The Union has an active voice to encourage, mobilize, promote the work of writing new, editing textbooks, lectures; completing scientific research topics; improving the quality of work of the administrative department, treasurer, library... Besides, a strength of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication is the spirit of solidarity, unanimity, and sharing in common work. Thanks to that, the Faculty and the Center have stable ideology, always united, and unanimous in all activities.

The new Executive Committee of the Trade Union was introduced to the Congress
Some of the main tasks in the new term of the Union are identified as:
- Continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the policy of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, contributing to the successful construction of the School according to the research university model.
- Promote the spirit of proactive participation in government activities, unions and other activities of the School and unit. Coordinate with professional units and unit leaders to develop a mechanism to promote training and fostering to improve the academic qualifications, expertise and professional skills of the staff.
- Organize activities associated with improving the quality of professional work.
- Care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of employees, creatively and proactively propose solutions to improve the lives of staff.
- Strengthen ideological education and awareness for officials about building office culture.
- Organize cultural and artistic exchange activities, improve the quality of activities of specialized clubs.
- Building a strong union; promptly and closely guiding and introducing outstanding union members to join the Communist Party of Vietnam.
