Congress of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Trade Union, term 2014-2019

The Congress heard the report summarizing the Trade Union's activities during the 2012-2014 term, the operational direction for the 2014-2019 term, elected the new Executive Committee, and adopted the Congress Resolution.

The Trade Union of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training are considered a positive element, playing an important role in launching movements and creating an enthusiastic competitive atmosphere in all aspects of the two units' activities. The quality of research and teaching has been improved. The Faculty's training programs have developed both in breadth and depth. The 2013-2014 academic year marked the first year the Faculty launched a new training program: Public Relations. Although the past term presented challenges and new demands for the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training, both units successfully completed the set targets and tasks.

To achieve these accomplishments, the Trade Union not only actively participated in major development directions but also closely monitored specific areas of activity such as training, academic affairs, teaching organization, examinations, awards, and disciplinary actions. The Trade Union played a positive role in motivating, mobilizing, and promoting the writing and revision of textbooks and lectures; completing scientific research projects; and improving the quality of work in the administrative, treasury, and library departments. In addition, a strength of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Skills is the spirit of solidarity, consensus, and sharing in common work. Thanks to this, the Faculty and Center maintain ideological stability and remain united and cooperative in all activities.

The newly elected Executive Committee of the Trade Union was introduced at the Congress.

Some of the key tasks for the new term of the Trade Union have been identified as follows:

- Continue to thoroughly understand and implement the policy of fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training, contributing to the successful development of the University according to the research university model.

- Promote proactive participation in government, mass organization, and other activities of the school and unit. Coordinate with specialized units and unit leaders to develop mechanisms to promote training and professional development to improve the educational level, expertise, and vocational skills of the staff.

- Organize activities that are closely linked to improving the quality of professional work.

- To care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of fans, and to creatively and proactively propose solutions to improve the living standards of staff and employees.

- Strengthen ideological education and awareness-raising efforts among staff regarding the development of workplace culture.

- Organize cultural and artistic exchange activities and improve the quality of activities of specialized clubs.

- Build strong trade unions; be timely and thorough in guiding and recommending outstanding union members to join the Communist Party of Vietnam.
