Faculty of Management Science Trade Union Congress for the 2014-2019 term

During the last term, the Faculty of Management Science's trade union movement has achieved quite comprehensive results. The trade union has encouraged union members to comply with all policies of the Party and the State's laws, and to implement the resolutions of the School's Party Committee and Party cells, and the resolutions of the higher-level trade union. The quality of the trade union's activities has been improved with practical contents, contributing to the good implementation of the common tasks of the unit.

The creativity and initiative of each staff in activities, especially professional activities, have been enhanced to meet the requirements of standardization and modernization in the new period. During the 2012-2014 term, 100% of the staff exceeded the teaching hour target, 100% of the staff had scientific research works. The Faculty has 24 articles published in specialized journals with ISSN index, 02 articles published in international journals, 45 reports in the proceedings of domestic and international conferences; 01 State topic, 01 VNU-level topic, 02 school-level topics were accepted with good results; has been and is implementing 02 State topics, 01 VNU-level topic, 03 school-level topics. The Union regularly organizes professional thematic activities for cadres on the topics: "Fundamental and comprehensive innovation of Vietnamese education", "1982 Convention on the Law of the Sea and the results of demarcation and marker planting", "KPI and application of KPI to human resource management"...

In addition, the work of caring for the spiritual and material life, protecting the rights of fans, implementing fairness, democracy, and transparency in the rights and policies for fans is also a remarkable achievement of the Faculty Union. Women's activities and sports are organized to support female fans in life and strengthen the solidarity of fans in the Faculty Union.

The Faculty of Management Science Trade Union was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the School Trade Union, a Certificate of Merit by the VNU Trade Union and a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam Education Trade Union.

The Congress also approved the objectives of the Faculty's Trade Union activities for the 2014-2019 term, which is to continue building the Faculty of Management Science Trade Union into a strong Trade Union collective, developing comprehensively in all aspects of activities.

Representing the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the School, speaking at the Congress, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim assessed: the activities of the Faculty of Management Science Union in the past term were diverse, rich, effective, with new ideas, thereby contributing effectively with the Party cell and the Board of Directors to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Faculty.

Together with other units in the School, the Faculty Union members have demonstrated their courage and high political awareness in the face of major events in the country's political life such as contributing to the Party's Resolution 6 on Science and Technology, the policy of fundamental and comprehensive reform of education to meet the requirements of the cause of industrialization and modernization, the draft of the amended Constitution, representing the scientific community with strong voices opposing China's illegal placement of an oil rig in Vietnam's continental shelf...

The outstanding results of the Faculty in training and research activities are: successfully converting the training program according to output standards, building a new master's training program in Science and Technology Management, the first PhD in Science and Technology Management in Vietnam. In the near future, the School will continue to assign the Faculty to build the Public Policy major. In addition, the Faculty's scientific research activities also have good achievements with many research topics completed on time. The staff have a high sense of responsibility for scientific research, demonstrated through the number of published works, articles, and books. With the reception of more fans of the Institute of Policy and Management, the Faculty's scientific research activities will certainly be enhanced in the future.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim said: The Union must be a support for the Union in difficult times, creating trust and promoting solidarity within the Faculty; at the same time, he welcomed the idea of ​​building a close relationship between the Union of the Faculty of Management Science and the Unions of other units to enhance exchanges, learning, and coordination of activities to further strengthen the strength of the Unions of the departments.

The Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee emphasized: The Union needs to always encourage and remind the Union members to constantly improve their qualifications, the Faculty Union collective must constantly strive to maintain its pioneering position and make worthy contributions in its research and training fields.
