The Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, extends New Year greetings to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On February 22, 2010, Professor Mai Trong Nhuan, Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, along with representatives from various departments of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, visited and extended New Year greetings to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

During the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, the Rector of the University, discussed with the delegation from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, several major research directions that the university will focus on in the coming period. He also affirmed the university's determination to maintain its leading position in research and training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam and to be among the top 200 universities in the region by the end of the next decade. Also in 2010, the university will organize celebratory activities and competitions leading up to the 65th anniversary of its founding.

Professor Mai Trong Nhuan expressed his joy and confidence in the school's successes in the new year. At the same time, he noted that the school needs to focus on developing more internationally standardized training programs; increasing the number of scientific articles published in international journals; proactively developing and implementing major research programs and projects within and outside the Vietnam National University, Hanoi; expanding joint training programs with advanced universities worldwide; improving the qualifications of the staff; and increasing the income of staff and faculty.

At the end of the meeting, the Rector of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, wished the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: "May you further develop your unique characteristics and strengths to successfully accomplish the tasks of the new academic year, maintaining your leading position in training and research in social sciences and humanities in the country."
