Director of VNU wishes a happy new year to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

On February 22, 2010, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of VNU, along with representatives of VNU departments, visited and wished a Happy New Year at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On February 22, 2010, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of VNU, along with representatives of VNU departments, visited and wished a Happy New Year at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - discussed with the delegation of VNU some major research directions that the University will focus on implementing in the coming time, and also affirmed the University's determination to maintain its leading position in research and training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam and to be among the top 200 universities in the region by the end of the next decade. Also in 2010, the University will organize activities to celebrate and compete towards the 65th anniversary of the University's founding.

Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan expressed his joy and confidence in the school's successes in the new year. At the same time, the Prof. also noted that the school needs to focus on developing a number of international standard training programs; increase the number of scientific articles published in international journals; proactively develop plans and implement major research programs and projects inside and outside VNU; expand joint training programs with advanced universities in the world; improve the qualifications of staff; and increase income for civil servants.

At the end of the meeting, the Director of VNU wished the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: “Promote your unique features and strengths to successfully carry out the tasks of the new school year, maintaining your leading position in training and research in social sciences and humanities of the country”.
