“The team of veteran teachers is a priceless asset of the School”

On the morning of February 9, 2010, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a friendly meeting with veteran teachers on the occasion of the Canh Dan Spring. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Party Committee Secretary and Principal of the school - chaired this meeting.

After the New Year greetings from the Board of Directors, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal - presented the scientific research orientation for the period 2010-2015 and the vision to 2020. Next, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh introduced the school's policy in adjusting training majors to suit social needs in the coming time, accordingly, a number of training majors in the faculties will be separated and developed into independent training majors at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels such as Arts, Policy Science, Public Administration, Japanese Studies, Chinese Studies, Korean Studies... The school also once again affirmed its goal of striving to become a university in the top 200 universities in Asia and the top 500 universities in the world by the end of this decade.

Contributing opinions on the two important contents above, Dr. Do Van Khang said that the school needs to clearly identify its strengths, in comparison with other universities in and outside the country, from which it can have specific orientations and plans to promote those strengths for future goals. Associate Professor, Dr. Do Xuan Ha said that in order to become a leading university, creating its own brand, the school needs to pay special attention to the entrance selection stage to attract the best students to study. Associate Professor Nguyen Truong Lich is interested in the issue of training high-quality students, in which he emphasizes the role of teachers in training excellent students. Prof. Dinh Xuan Lam expressed his support for the development orientation of the University but also said that in order to achieve that, the University needs to make great efforts in all aspects, especially building a team of truly qualified teaching and research staff, which is the core and real strength of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh affirmed: The school is always proud of and considers the team of veteran teachers as invaluable assets and great examples for future generations of cadres. With their intelligence, experience and enthusiasm, the teachers have made many valuable contributions to the growth of the school in the past as well as the present. In the coming time, the school hopes to continue to receive the teachers' attention and advice on major policies so that the school can continue to develop, maintain its leading position in the university education system and successfully achieve the set goals.
