"The team of veteran teachers is an invaluable asset to the school."

On the morning of February 9, 2010, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a cordial meeting with veteran teachers to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Tiger. Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the university – presided over the meeting.

Following the New Year's greetings from the Board of Directors, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector - presented the research orientation for the period 2010-2015 and the vision to 2020. Next, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh introduced the university's policy of adjusting training programs to meet future societal needs. Accordingly, some specialized training programs in the faculties will be separated and developed into independent undergraduate and postgraduate programs such as Art Studies, Policy Science, Public Administration, Japanese Studies, Chinese Studies, Korean Studies, etc. The university also reaffirmed its goal of striving to become a university among the top 200 universities in Asia and the top 500 universities in the world by the end of this decade.

Contributing opinions on the two important points above, Dr. Do Van Khang suggested that the university needs to clearly identify its strengths, in comparison with other universities both domestically and internationally, in order to develop specific directions and plans to leverage those strengths for future goals. Associate Professor Dr. Do Xuan Ha argued that to become a leading university and create its own brand, the university needs to pay special attention to the admissions process to attract the best students. Associate Professor Nguyen Truong Lich focused on the issue of training high-quality students, emphasizing the role of teachers in producing excellent students. Professor Dinh Xuan Lam expressed support for the university's development direction but also stated that to achieve this, the university needs to make significant efforts in all aspects, especially in building a truly high-quality teaching and research staff, which is the core and true strength of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Concluding the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh affirmed: The university is always proud of and considers its veteran faculty members as invaluable assets and great role models for future generations of staff. With their intellect, experience, and enthusiasm, these teachers have made many valuable contributions to the university's growth both in the past and present. In the future, the university hopes to continue receiving their attention and suggestions for major policies so that the university can continue to develop, maintain its leading position in the higher education system, and successfully achieve its set goals.
