Preliminary round of the “8th Vietnam Poetry Day”

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the preliminary round of the "8th Vietnam Poetry Day" competition on the evening of February 4, 2010.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the preliminary round of the "8th Vietnam Poetry Day" competition on the evening of February 4, 2010.

Previously, in November 2009, a poetry writing competition with the theme "Spring, Country, People" was widely launched among students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Each student could participate with one or more poems that had never been published in any mass media. From the end of November 2009 to January 31, 2010, the Organizing Committee received 251 poems from 64 authors. Results:

  • First prize: Dinh Tuan Anh (Literature, Class of 53)
  • Second prize: Do Thi Hue (Literature, Class of 51)
  • Third prize:
    + Le Thi Hang (Literature Class K52)
    + Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (Journalism - Communication K51)

The winning entries from the preliminary round will be selected to participate in the final round, which will be judged and awarded prizes by the Vietnam Writers Association.

The poetry contest is a commemorative activity leading up to the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, jointly organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Vietnam Writers Association.
