Preliminary round of "Vietnam Poetry Day VIII"

University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized the preliminary round of the contest "Vietnam Poetry Day VIII", on the evening of February 4, 2010.

Previously, in November 2009, a poetry writing contest with the theme “Spring, Country, People” was launched widely among the students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Each student could participate in the contest with one or more poetry works that had never been published in any mass media. From the end of November 2009 to January 31, 2010, the Organizing Committee received 251 poems from 64 authors. Results:

• First prize: Dinh Tuan Anh (Literature K53)
• Second prize: Do Thi Hue (Literature K51)
• Third prize:
  + Le Thi Hang (Literature K52)
  + Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (Journalism - Communication K51)

The works that win high prizes in the preliminary round will be selected to participate in the final round and awarded by the Vietnam Writers Association.

The poetry contest is a commemorative activity towards the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, jointly organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Vietnam Writers Association.
