This morning (January 21st), a seminar took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This is an activity under the KX.03 program researching the influence of Western European and North American culture on the world and Vietnam.
The topics discussed at the seminar included:
- How has Western culture influenced the cultures of other regions of the world during the process of globalization? Discussions focused on clarifying the basic policies, tools, and methods of disseminating Western European and North American culture abroad, especially to developing countries; the process and results of the enormous impact of Western European and North American culture on several important regions and countries in the world during globalization; and the potential for continued future impact of Western European and North American culture on the cultures of nations around the world.
- Methods of absorbing, applying, and promoting the positive elements of Western European and North American culture: Delegates synthesized and analyzed the successful and unsuccessful experiences, as well as the challenges, of countries around the world, especially Vietnam, in absorbing, applying, and promoting the positive elements and limitations of the negative elements of Western European and North American culture in the process of building their own culture. Based on this, many lessons were learned, and many solutions at both macro and micro levels were proposed to enable Vietnamese culture to effectively interact with European and American culture, serving the cause of modernization and industrialization of the country.
