In order for the program to take place smoothly and meaningfully, Vietnamese students have made very careful preparations, from reception activities to cultural and exchange activities. This year's exchange program has attracted many students from all courses of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, especially first-year students.
Coming to the program, international students watched a short film introducing the formation and development of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, and enjoyed cultural exchange through familiar songs that young Vietnamese people love. Immediately after that, students were also guided through the procedures and regulations during their time studying Vietnamese at the Faculty.
In addition, Vietnamese students in the Faculty also introduced to international students some historical sites in Hanoi, traditional folk cultures such as cheo, xam, ca tru, hat van...
Ngu Tao Duong, a Chinese student who attended the exchange, shared: "I feel that Vietnamese girls are very pretty and sing very well. Vietnamese students are very enthusiastic and dynamic."
Thanh Binh, a third-year student, also said: “The Faculty of Vietnamese Studies is one of the faculties with a large number of international students studying and researching. In the 2016-2017 school year, the faculty welcomed more than 50 international students from many different countries. They are sociable, cheerful, active, and show their love for Vietnamese language and culture. I believe that the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, a faculty that trains foreigners in Vietnamese studies with a very long tradition, will certainly help you discover the beauty and quintessence of the Vietnamese people. I also hope that there will be more and more opportunities for me and Vietnamese students to meet and chat with international students like today's exchange session.”
At the end of the program, the Faculty also officially announced the fanpage of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language. The purpose of the page is to provide information and help students and international students in matters of living, studying, emotional counseling, etc. Hopefully, the fanpage will be a tool for Vietnamese students to get closer to international friends.
Also on this occasion, Vietnamese students sent handmade gifts to all foreign students. Although they were only small gifts, they contained the feelings of Vietnamese students to the international students. On Thieu Huy, a Chinese student who studied Vietnamese in China for 2 years, shared: "The flowers you made are just like real flowers, I really like them."
Through this event, students expressed their hope that there will be more useful and enriching bonding activities between students who share a passion for Vietnamese language and culture from many countries around the world.
