The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is hosting a training course on the theory and practice of innovation.

From October 3-5, 2016, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was the first university to host a series of training courses and conferences within the framework of the Project to Strengthen Vietnam's National Innovation and Research Capacity, funded by the European Commission.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is hosting a training course on the theory and practice of innovation.

The project involves six Vietnamese universities: the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen University, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, Can Tho University, and An Giang University, along with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education and Training. Foreign partners participating in this project are the University of Alicante (Spain), Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland), and the Technical University of Slovakia (Slovakia). The project lasts 36 months and includes seven specific activity packages aimed at researching and evaluating the current state of research and innovation in Vietnam, and proposing solutions to support Vietnamese universities in enhancing their capacity for innovation, research, and the transfer of science, technology, and knowledge.

    

On the morning of October 3rd, the training focused on "Theory and Practice of Innovation." Participants included scientists and managers from universities and units involved in the Project.

The speakers for the training session were Dr. Roberto Escarré and Ms. Noelia López (University of Alicante). The training content included: Fundamentals of industrial cooperation and innovation models; Regional innovation strategies – the case of the Valencia community; The contribution of university research units to regional innovation systems…

The goal of this training session is to help participants:

  • Enhance knowledge of key topics in the management and implementation of research and innovation activities.
  • Understanding the mechanisms, basic concepts, and potential of innovation systems in the region.
  • Identify the stakeholders in each country's innovation system.
  • Develop ideas for effective collaboration in research and innovation.
  • Understanding the importance of collaborating with stakeholders within the regional innovation system to improve innovation capacity and effectiveness.
  • Develop fundraising strategies within the facilities to ensure financial stability.
  • Develop project proposals for international cooperation programs.

Tomorrow (October 4th), the next part of the training session will focus on fundraising solutions for research activities. The activity on October 5th will be a roundtable discussion on the importance of higher education for economic development.
