University of Social Sciences and Humanities received Certificate of Education Quality Accreditation

These are the first three member universities of VNU to be assessed and certified for educational quality standards by the Center for Educational Quality Assessment - VNU-HCM, an independent quality assessment organization of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of VNU, there were Director Nguyen Kim Son, Deputy Directors, senior experts, leaders of the Office, functional departments, Institute for Education Quality Assurance, Center for Education Quality Assessment, member and affiliated units.

Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University and Director of the Center for Education Quality Assurance - Ho Chi Minh City National University Nguyen Hoi Nghia attended and awarded the Education Quality Assurance Certificate to 3 member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Also attending were representatives of the Department of Testing and Educational Quality Assessment - Ministry of Education and Training, Center for Educational Quality Assessment - Ho Chi Minh City National University.

As of September 2016, only 3 Vietnamese universities have been granted quality certification according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training. Thus, the granting of quality certification to 3 member universities of VNU doubles the number of Vietnamese universities granted quality certification, to 6 universities.

The Center for Education Quality Assessment - Ho Chi Minh City National University organized an assessment of the education quality of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU from December 4 to 7, 2015, the University of Foreign Languages ​​- VNU and the University of Economics - VNU from March 22 to 25, 2016.

All three member universities of VNU have met the quality standards of the Ministry of Education and Training, including important criteria on staff, training programs, scientific research, and student employment.

Through the assessment activities, the 3 member universities of VNU all have the leading scores compared to the universities that have been recognized to have achieved quality assessment results according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training up to now. This is an important milestone in the quality assessment activities of VNU to affirm the training quality of VNU to the society.

Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University Nguyen Hoi Nghia said that these are the first three universities to be certified by the Center for Education Quality Assurance - Ho Chi Minh City National University for Education Quality Assurance, creating a culture of quality towards sustainable development at higher education institutions.

Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Nguyen Kim Son said that VNU has always been a pioneer and proactive in participating in quality assurance and quality assurance activities both domestically and internationally and has achieved important results, contributing to increasingly enhancing its reputation and affirming its brand.

Director Nguyen Kim Son suggested that units certified with KQGD should continue to promote their strengths, improve and adjust their limitations to continuously improve quality, step by step develop VNU comprehensively, according to the standards of an advanced research university, contributing to the development of the country's education.

Along with the 3 schools that have been granted the KQGD certificate, the University of Technology and the University of Education of VNU have been approved by the Council for Education Quality Assessment and will be granted the certificate in the coming days. The University of Science will be assessed by ASEAN experts in January 2017 and will be the first school to be assessed by the ASEAN University Network (AUN). Thus, VNU will be the first university to have all its member schools (with training programs with graduates) assessed and accredited according to Vietnamese or international standards.
