On June 12, 2013, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector) and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu (Head of the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation) met and worked with Dr. Fernando Pedrose (Head of the International Department, University of Buenos Aires – Argentina) and representatives from the Argentine Embassy in Vietnam: Mr. Sergio F. Policastro (Head of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Department), Mr. Junan Guzik (First Secretary), and Ms. Sofia Sanchez Acosta (Second Secretary, Head of the Consular Department).
During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of training, scientific research, and more.
Professor Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University – emphasized that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is very interested in and values the development and expansion of cooperative relations with universities in Central and South America. The Rector hopes that in the near future, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Buenos Aires will soon establish cooperative relations in training and research, exchange of lecturers and students, and joint organization of scientific seminars…
Dr. Fernando Pedrose stated: "The two universities share many similarities in training in social sciences and humanities. In particular, this past April, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Tan Dung, visited the Republic of Argentina. During the visit of the Prime Minister and the high-level Vietnamese government delegation, cooperation agreements in the field of education between the two countries were signed. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's visit marks a new stage in the development of relations between Vietnam and Argentina."
Dr. Fernando Pedrose expressed his hope that in the future, the two sides will promote cooperation, exchange, and faculty and student exchanges between the two universities.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to sign a formal cooperation agreement, which will be further concretized into joint cooperation programs in the future.
