IN-Wallonie-Bruxellus International Talent Scholarship Programme

From 2008-2009, within the framework of promoting the sending/receiving of students, researchers, and lecturers to study and research abroad, Wallonie-Bruxellus International (WBI-International Cooperation Agency of the French-speaking Belgian Community and the Walloon Region) established a new scholarship program:IN.WBI Talent Scholarship.

From 2008-2009, within the framework of promoting the sending/receiving of students, researchers, and lecturers to study and research abroad, Wallonie-Bruxellus International (WBI-International Cooperation Agency of the French-speaking Belgian Community and the Walloon Region) established a new scholarship program:IN.WBI Talent Scholarship.

The IN.WBI scholarship programme is intended for foreigners who have a master's degree from a foreign university and are recognised by the Wallonie-Bruxellus authorities. The programme is intended for candidates who wish to pursue advanced training courses, or to carry out specialized research projects, or to complete a doctoral or postdoctoral training programme at universities in the French-speaking Belgian Community or a Community-funded institution.

Thus, the IN.WBI scholarship program is completely suitable for Vietnamese candidates and helps create conditions for excellent Vietnamese masters and doctoral students to further their education in Wallonia and in Brussels.

Key requirements for candidates

Be a holder of a master's degree awarded by a foreign university and that master's degree must be recognised by the competent authorities of Wallonie-Bruxelles as equivalent to a Belgian master's degree.

Scholarship Program

  • Granting doctoral or postdoctoral scholarships for a minimum term of one year and renewable up to two times;
  • Short-term research scholarships from 1 month to 3 months;

Field

The priority areas are those covered by the Walloon Region's MARSHALL plan:

  • Transport and logistics
  • Mechanical
  • Life Sciences
  • Agriculture – Industry
  • Aerospace

All other fields within the humanities, basic sciences or applied sciences may be considered..

Application deadline:

  • For doctoral or postdoctoral scholarships of at least one year duration: March 1, 2009 for the 2009-2010 academic year.
  • For research scholarships: applications are accepted every three years. The two upcoming deadlines are:
    + For study period between June and September 2009: submit application before March 1, 2009.
    + For expected study period between October 2009 and January 2010: submit application before June 1, 2009.
    + For the study period between February and May 2010: submit application before November 1, 2009 (pending confirmation).
