The 2016 Trade Union Singing Contest was a great success.

The competition took place in the auditorium on the 8th floor of building E on the afternoon and evening of November 18, 2016, with presentations from 17 teams representing the departmental trade unions within the school. With 45 diverse artistic performances in terms of genre, melody, form, and content, the competition brought moments of exhilaration to the audience.

With innovative formats and rules compared to traditional arts and culture competitions, the contest brought exciting and unexpected moments to the audience. Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang – Chairman of the University's Trade Union – said that organizing the Trade Union singing contest with karaoke music (singing with a screen) saved a lot of money, time, and effort for the University and its units, while attracting many union members to participate, making it fun and effective. The Associate Professor confided: "Initially, when we planned to organize the contest in this new format, there were quite a few objections, even among the University's trade union staff. But with the motto of creating a joyful and cohesive atmosphere, thereby motivating staff and lecturers to work and contribute to the University, we were determined to organize it. The results of the contest have proven that the innovative format was entirely correct."

The competition concluded amidst the joy of the artists and audience. At the end of the competition, the first prize was awarded to the Trade Union of the Faculty of Political Science, the second prize to the Trade Union of the Faculty of Management Science and the Trade Union of the Administrative Block, and the third prize to the Trade Union of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, the Trade Union of the Faculty of Philosophy, and the Trade Union of the Faculty of Linguistics.
