Deploying the State-level scientific research topic "Some basic and urgent issues on ethnic minorities in East Asia, Southeast Asia and their impacts on Vietnam"

On November 10, 2006, the Management Board of the State-level scientific project "Some basic and urgent issues on ethnic minorities in East Asia, Southeast Asia and their impacts on Vietnam" (with Associate Professor, Dr. Lam Ba Nam as Project Manager and Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu as Project Deputy Manager - code: CTDT.03.16/16-20) held a workshop to deploy the project implementation plan for the period 2016 - 2018.

Deploying the State-level scientific research topic "Some basic and urgent issues on ethnic minorities in East Asia, Southeast Asia and their impacts on Vietnam"

This is one of the first topics under the National Science and Technology Program for the period 2016 - 2020 "Basic and urgent issues on ethnic minorities and ethnic policies in Vietnam until 2030" (code CTDT/16-20) of the Ethnic Committee, implemented under a contract between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Ethnic Committee.

Attending the implementation workshop were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Dr. Tran Van Kham – Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific Research Management. The main members of the project are all experts in the fields of Anthropology, Ethnology, Philosophy and Social Management, History, and Law.

According to the signed contract, the Project Management Board plans to immediately implement in 2016 many professional activities such as: investigation, survey, discussion, scientific workshop and publication of related works.

Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim highly appreciated the preparation and implementation of the project's very methodical plan and expected that the project would "finish" on schedule, while producing products of high practical and academic value, contributing to providing accurate arguments for the innovation of ethnic policies in Vietnam.
