Receiving the delegation of Guangxi University of Science and Technology (China)

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) introduced that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities. The University currently has 17 faculties, 12 centers and research institutes as well as more than 10,000 students and trainees of all levels and training systems. In 1995, the University established the Department of Chinese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and conducted training from bachelor to doctoral levels in Chinese studies. Many Chinese students have studied majors such as International Studies, Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University within the framework of the 1+3, 2+2 training programs. The University wishes to further expand cooperation with Guangxi University of Science and Technology through activities such as organizing international conferences, exchanging students and lecturers, and conducting joint research projects.

Dr. Li Yanzhou thanked the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and expressed his wish for Guangxi University of Science and Technology to promote cooperation with the University. Dr. Li Yanzhou proposed a number of areas of cooperation such as short-term student exchanges between the two sides. Guangxi University of Science and Technology will support the cost and accommodation conditions for Vietnamese students to visit Guangxi as well as other provinces such as Guilin and Liuzhou.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan pledged that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will create favorable conditions to implement the above cooperation proposals. At the same time, the University will promote information about Guangxi University of Science and Technology to all staff, lecturers and students of the University. The Office of Cooperation and Development will act as the focal point between the two sides.

Guangxi University of Science and Technology (GUST) is a public university under the People's Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, founded in 1958.
