On November 18, 2016, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) had a meeting and signed a cooperation document with the delegation of Hanyang University of Technology (Korea) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tae Soo Rya (Vice Rector of Hanyang University of Technology). Also receiving the delegation were representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Office of Cooperation and Development.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) affirmed that promoting international cooperation and exchange is considered a key task and foundation for the development of the University in the coming time. The University has cooperated with many famous universities in Korea such as Seoul National University, Pusan ​​University... and the Korea Foundation to develop Korean Studies and many other research and training cooperation programs. The Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University currently has a Korean Studies major, which is one of the leading training addresses for Korean Studies and Korean language. The University also has the Seijong Korean Language Center specializing in training Korean for Vietnamese people, with the support of Busan University (Korea). The University is also a member of the Association for Korean Studies in Southeast Asia (KoSASA). Over the years, with the expansion of cooperation between the School and the Korean Embassy, ​​Korean universities, research institutes, funds, and social organizations, the School has had remarkable achievements in promoting research and training in Korean studies.

Associate Professor Dr. Tae Soo Rya expressed his joy at the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Associate Professor Dr. Tae Soo Rya said that Hanyang University of Technology wishes to provide learning opportunities in an environment for Vietnamese students and trainees, especially distance learning courses via the Internet. Hanyang University of Technology also wishes to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to create conditions for children of Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families to study and work in Vietnam. This will be a practical contribution to the growing relationship between Vietnam and Korea in general.

Next, the leaders of the two sides signed an official memorandum of cooperation. Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Hanyang University of Technology pledged to promote the exchange of teaching and research staff; exchange of students; cooperation in education and training; cooperation in short-term training programs, seminars and academic programs; exchange of academic data and information (journals, leaflets, curricula); and carry out special research projects for common purposes. The memorandum of cooperation will be valid for 5 years.
