
The Association has widely disseminated information about the Association among faculty and students, encouraged individuals and units within the school to join the Association; raised awareness of the Association and its role among faculty and students, and attracted many members to participate in the activities of the sports clubs within the school.
In addition, the sports clubs within the school have been reorganized and are operating stably.
The Badminton Club had approximately 20 active members throughout 2013, attracting students from other universities (Academy of Policy Management, University of Construction, etc.). The club organized a friendly badminton match with staff from the Youth Academy (September 2013) and a friendly match with Deajin University (South Korea) in October 2013.
The staff football club has 30 members and is the most active club in terms of regular training and participation in competitions and friendly matches with units inside and outside the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), such as: competing in the football tournament of Construction College No. 1, Ministry of Construction; participating in the VNU football tournament in 2013, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Government's decree on VNU (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2013) and winning third place; friendly football matches with other units such as the VNU Office, the University of Foreign Languages - VNU, the International Faculty - VNU, the Oncology Institute - Thanh Nhan Hospital, the Northern Coal Corporation, the Information and Library Center - Security Academy, alumni of the International Faculty, alumni of the Sociology Faculty…
The staff tennis club regularly practices and participates in tournaments organized by VNU and the relevant departments. In 2013, they participated in the tournament commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Government's Decree on VNU and won third place.
The Cheerleading Club has nearly 30 members participating in training and competitions. The club performed at the Grand Theatre (October 2nd); competed in the Uleague 2013 tournament (October 6th - November 6th, 2013), winning the Northern region Cheerleading championship and third place in the national competition in Ho Chi Minh City; performed at events organized by the Ba Dinh District Sports Center in Hanoi; participated in filming for the S-Vietnam program; performed at the Exhibition and Conference on Commercialization of Scientific and Technological Products as part of the activities commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Government's Decree on Hanoi National University (November 29th); and participated in filming for VTC10 television on the topic of cheerleading…
With the aim of promoting the spirit of sportsmanship and contributing to improving the health of staff and faculty, the School's Sports Association, in coordination with the School's Trade Union Executive Committee, organized Yoga and Sports Dance classes with nearly 60 staff and faculty members participating.
The Sports Association also collaborated with the Youth Union and the Student Association of the University to organize the 2013 Men's Student Football Tournament and the "Vietnamese Youth" Festival; participated in the Student Arts, Sports and Culture Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, winning two first prizes and representing the North in the national competition.
In 2014, the School Sports Association will focus on the following main activities:
- Gradually develop the clubs, promote them, and recruit more members.
- To enhance physical training, recreation, and social interaction in order to better serve the teaching, learning, scientific research, and other activities of faculty members and students throughout the university.
- Organize exchanges with organizations and clubs outside the school.
- In coordination with the Youth Union and Student Association of the University, organize the 2014 Women's Student Football Tournament (scheduled for March 2014).
- Organize badminton tournaments for the club or friendly matches with other units and clubs.
- The cheerleading club participated in the 2014 Student Arts and Sports Competition.
