After two rounds of university entrance exams in 2019, the QH-2019.X course had more than 400 graduate students (including 10 international students) admitted to 42 Master's majors; 50 doctoral students admitted to 31 doctoral majors of the University.
At the opening ceremony, Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized the increasingly clear trend of practical learning in current postgraduate training. Learners have a need to learn practically to gain knowledge and closely link learning and research with their own work and career orientation. In that context, postgraduate training at schools is undergoing innovations to keep up with learners’ needs and social trends.
Vice President Hoang Anh Tuan also shared a lot of information about the innovations in the direction of simplifying administrative procedures, focusing on learners and improving the quality of postgraduate training of the University in recent times. In the context of declining postgraduate enrollment at many universities in Vietnam, the University's postgraduate training majors still maintain a certain attraction. The number of students enrolled annually in Master's majors accounts for about 30% of the total number of postgraduate students of VNU, the number of PhD students accounts for about 50% of the total number of PhD students of VNU.
This result is partly due to the fact that the structure of the University's postgraduate majors is being increasingly improved, many new majors are being opened in line with social trends, some old majors are being reviewed and the training content and orientation are being adjusted to suit the reality. Along with that, the management of postgraduate training activities also has many innovations in the direction of maximizing the learning rights of learners. The University is also committed to doing its best so that students and postgraduates can complete their studies at the University in the coming time.
