Following two rounds of postgraduate admissions in 2019, the QH-2019.X cohort had over 400 postgraduate students (including 10 international students) admitted to 42 Master's programs; and 50 doctoral candidates admitted to 31 PhD programs at the university.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized the increasingly prominent trend of practical learning in postgraduate education today. Students have a need for substantive learning to acquire knowledge and closely link their studies and research with their career aspirations. In this context, postgraduate education at universities is undergoing innovations to keep pace with student needs and societal trends.

Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also shared information about the innovations aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, focusing on the learner, and improving the quality of postgraduate training at the University in recent years. While postgraduate enrollment at many universities in Vietnam has declined, the University's postgraduate programs have maintained a certain level of appeal. The number of students enrolled annually in Master's programs accounts for approximately 30% of the total number of postgraduate students at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the number of doctoral candidates accounts for approximately 50% of the total number of doctoral candidates at Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

This achievement is partly due to the increasingly refined structure of the University's postgraduate programs, with the opening of many new programs that align with societal trends, and the review and adjustment of the content and training orientation of some older programs to better suit practical needs. Along with this, postgraduate training management has also undergone many innovations aimed at maximizing the learning benefits of students. The University is also committed to doing its utmost to ensure that students and doctoral candidates successfully complete their studies at the University in the future.
