Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Hong Hai chaired the presentation. Attending the presentation were Dr. Frank Proschan - Fulbright scholar teaching at the Faculty, Dr. Philip Taylor - Honorary Professor of the Australian National University, along with scientists from Germany and lecturers, researchers, and graduate students working and studying at the Faculty of Anthropology.

The presentation was enthusiastically discussed by the participating scientists, many issues related to religious beliefs and religious change in contemporary society were raised. Dr. Paul Christensen gave convincing evidence with new theoretical and methodological approaches.

In the afternoon of the same day, Dr. Paul Christensen attended a lecture on “Ritual theory” for students of the Religious Anthropology class taught by Prof. Dr. Dinh Hong Hai. Dr. Paul Christensen’s lecture was actively discussed by K61 Anthropology students with presentations by 03 groups on the topics of rituals in Muong, Viet and San Chay cultures. The presentations by K61 Anthropology students were conducted directly in English.
The presentation was attended by Humanists from foreign universities.
Dr. Paul Christensen highly appreciated the English presentation skills of K61 students and was very impressed with the confidence of the young people. He shared: “This is a great experience for me about anthropology students in Vietnam, you really have a great potential for science in the future”.

Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Hong Hai, on behalf of the Faculty of Anthropology and K61 anthropology students, thanked Dr. Paul Christensen for the knowledge he shared with young people and hoped for more cooperation programs between the two universities. Dr. Paul Christensen also hopes to continue to cooperate with the Faculty of Anthropology through future projects.
In the regular scientific seminar series of the Faculty of Anthropology at the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year, many scientists from Germany, the US, France, and Australia had exciting scientific activities at the Faculty of Anthropology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
