Receiving the delegation of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (Thailand)

On April 22, 2019, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Office of Cooperation and Development welcomed a delegation from Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (Thailand) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Artima Pantunyanon (Assistant Rector in charge of Student Affairs).

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh introduced that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the leading research and training institution in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam. Regarding international cooperation, the University has signed cooperation agreements with more than 400 foreign partners, including Thai partners such as Burapha University, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, Kasetsart University. Thai students account for the largest number of students from Southeast Asia studying at the University. The Thai Studies Department of the University's Faculty of Oriental Studies has been teaching Thai as an official foreign language. In the coming time, the University hopes to welcome lecturers and students from other countries to exchange and work.

On behalf of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, Associate Professor, Dr. Artima Pantunyanon expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome of the University. Visiting the University of Social Sciences and Humanities this time with the delegation of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, there were 7 excellent students from 7 faculties of the other side. They will have an exchange session and perform art at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. At the same time, the other side also wishes to extend the official memorandum of understanding that the two schools signed in 2010.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the idea of ​​organizing an art exchange by Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University. The President said that this is a good opportunity for students from both sides to get to know each other and apply the knowledge they have learned in the classroom into practice. The President also invited students from both sides to participate in the Oriental Night event held next year at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University.

Located in Pathumthani, Thailand, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University was founded in 1932 and named after Princess Valaya Alongkorn. It has seven faculties: Education, Agricultural Technology, Industrial Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Science, Science and Technology, Public Health, along with a Graduate School and the Institute of Innovation Management.
