At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh briefly introduced the history of training and research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a leading address for training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The President proposed the implementation of cooperation between the Jeju Provincial Department of Education by suggesting some directions of activities between the two schools such as joint student exchanges and joint research. The Korean Studies Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies at the university is one of the only addresses for training on Korea in Vietnam.
Mr. Ko Dong Hyeon said that currently, there are 161 Vietnamese students studying in Jeju province and the number is increasing every year. He hopes that through the signing of the cooperation agreement, the two sides will increase the number of students studying in the province. He also hopes that the school will help Jeju province in training Vietnamese for multicultural families here.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is aware of the growing need for Vietnamese language learning among multicultural families in Korea. The University is ready to send qualified and experienced lecturers to Jeju province to teach Vietnamese. At the same time, the two sides will soon start specific work related to opening a Vietnamese language teaching program here, such as building programs, compiling textbooks, and determining teaching subjects. This will be a great contribution to the relationship between the two sides as well as the relationship between Vietnam and Korea in general.
