Attending the conference were Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy, Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Department of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Mr. Hoang Dinh Luong, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quanh Minh, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with a large number of young lecturers, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates of the university.
The purpose of the workshop isriceContributing to improving the quality of training and scientific research for young faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates of the University; enhancing acquired knowledge and research on specific issues posed by their specialization; creating a professional foundation and research skills for the learning and research process (thesis, dissertation); improving the quality of training and self-training, creating a high-quality workforce, identifying and nurturing a team of potential scientific staff; creating an academic atmosphere among young faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates, aiming to contribute to building a research university.
The conference attracted 102 papers from young faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates of the university. The papers focused on the application of theory, methodology, and practical applications in interdisciplinary research in the social sciences and humanities. The papers submitted to the conference were original research papers—not previously published in any conferences, journals, or monographs—and were related to theses, dissertations, and professional research by young faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates.
The workshop was divided into three subcommittees, with Subcommittee 1 chaired by Professor Vu Duong Ninh and Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan. Some of the main topics included: Pho Hien in the Dang Ngoai river system in the 17th-18th centuries: Documents and new perspectives; Changes in the status of Chinese women in the family during the modern era (approached from a historical and legal perspective); President Barack Obama's foreign policy from a theoretical perspective...
Subcommittee 2 was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Vuong and Dr. Pham Xuan Thach. The subcommittee focused on interdisciplinary reports in linguistics, literature, journalism, archival studies, and tourism studies. Several topics attracted lively discussion among delegates, such as: Approaching the theory of "public space" in online journalism; From epistemology to ontology - philosophical questions in Apichatpong's films (through the films Sydromes and Uncles Boonmee);...
Subcommittee 3 is chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Cao Dam and Dr. Dao Thanh Truong. The subcommittee focuses on interdisciplinary reports in the fields of sociology, management science, and library and information science, such as: The entrepreneurial motivations of Vietnamese Buddhist businesspeople; Human resource management in higher education - a developing interdisciplinary research direction in Vietnam; Livelihoods of immigrants from the perspective of social capital theory...
