The Faculty of History is one of the leading basic science faculties of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and is a leading institution nationwide in historical research and training - training Bachelors, Master's, and Doctoral graduates in many specialties of historical science.
Currently, the Department of History offers the following specializations:
- At the Bachelor's level, the programs include: Archaeology, Cultural Studies and Vietnamese Cultural History, Urban History, Vietnamese History, World History, and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with two systems: Standard System and High-Quality System.
- At the Master's level, the subjects include: Archaeology, Cultural Studies and Vietnamese Cultural History, Vietnamese History, World History, and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Doctoral programs include: Historical Theory, Archaeology, Vietnamese History, World History, and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The Department of History has a highly qualified staff, many of whom are leading experts in their fields. The department's staff have completed numerous important scientific research projects and compiled many valuable textbooks and lectures, both academically and pedagogically, which have been highly praised by colleagues both domestically and internationally.
Due to its outstanding achievements in training and scientific research, the Faculty of History has been awarded the title of Hero of Labor (2000), the First Class Labor Medal (2005) by the State... Many departments have been awarded the Second and Third Class Labor Medals. Generations of faculty members have also received numerous prestigious awards and titles domestically and internationally in science and technology, and in education and training: 4 Ho Chi Minh Awards; 4 State Awards; 1 International Award; 14 People's Teachers; 8 Excellent Teachers; many teachers have received the First, Second, and Third Class Labor Medals and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education and Training, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Over 50 teachers received medals for their contributions to education, science and technology development, the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the younger generation, among others.
The Department of History has established training and research partnerships with most provinces and cities nationwide, and has scientific cooperation and training linkages with many universities and research centers in countries around the world.
