History Industry and Career Opportunities

The Faculty of History is one of the leading basic science faculties of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, a leading institution in the country in historical research and training - a place to train Bachelors, Masters, and Doctors in many majors of historical science.

Currently, the Faculty of History trains in the following majors:

- At the Bachelor level, there are: Archaeology, Cultural Studies and Vietnamese Cultural History, Urban History, Vietnamese History, World History and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam with two systems: Standard System and High Quality System.

- At Master's level, including: Archaeology, Cultural Studies and History of Vietnamese Culture, Vietnamese History, World History and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam

At the PhD level, there are: Historical Theory, Archaeology, Vietnamese History, World History and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The Faculty of History has a team of highly qualified staff, many of whom are leading experts in their fields. The staff of the Faculty have completed many important scientific research projects, compiled many textbooks and lectures of academic and pedagogical value, and have been highly appreciated by colleagues at home and abroad.

Due to its outstanding achievements in training and scientific research, the Faculty of History was awarded the title of Hero of Labor (2000), the First Class Labor Medal (2005) by the State... Many Departments were awarded the Second and Third Class Labor Medals. Generations of staff of the Faculty have also received many prestigious domestic and international awards and titles in science and technology, education and training: 04 Ho Chi Minh Awards; 04 State Awards; 01 International Award; 14 People's Teachers; 08 Excellent Teachers; many teachers were awarded the First, Second, Third Class Labor Medals and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education and Training, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Director of VNU Hanoi; More than 50 teachers received Medals for Education, Medals for Science and Technology Development, Medals for VNU, Medals for the Young Generation,...

The Faculty of History has had training and research cooperation with most provinces and cities in the country, and has scientific cooperation and training links with many universities and research centers in countries around the world.

With the advantages of expertise and experience of the Faculty, graduates are able to work in many different fields both domestically and internationally. Specifically:

• Doing research work at institutes, research centers, state agencies, social organizations with professional requirements directly related to historical knowledge.
• Teaching history at universities, colleges and high schools.
• Work in historical document management, museum management, historical relics at the central and local levels.
• Working at central and local press agencies.
• Do work related to various issues in the social sciences and humanities.

After graduation, you can continue to study at higher levels in the fields of History or other social sciences and humanities at home or abroad.
