On March 4, 2013, the school's Board of Directors met and worked with international partners from New Zealand and the United States.Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh met with Mr. Jeff Howe, Head of International Relations at Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand). The two sides discussed the implementation of a collaborative 2+2 program for a Bachelor of Public Policy degree. At the end of the meeting, representatives from both universities agreed to try to implement the program in the 2013-2014 academic year. On the same day, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Kim met with Professor Alice Hines, Vice Dean of the School of Social Work (San Jose State University, USA). Also present was Associate Professor Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa, Head of the Sociology Department. During the meeting, the leaders of the two universities discussed information about the project to strengthen social work training (SWEEP), a collaboration between the School of Social Work, San Jose State University, and five universities in Vietnam that offer social work programs.

According to the plan, this project will last for approximately three years. Currently, the project is in its first year, carrying out surveys and assessments of the needs and practices of each school. In addition, during the meeting, leaders from both sides also discussed short-term training programs for social work lecturers.
