On March 2, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the University of Natural Sciences solemnly organized a meeting of former leaders of Hanoi National University through the ages. At the meeting, professors and teachers reviewed the precious traditions of the former Hanoi National University, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.On behalf of the leaders of the two schools, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Luong - Vice Rector of the University of Natural Sciences gave an overview of the situation and development achievements of the two schools from 1995 to present. Up to now, despite being at an "old age", the teachers are still diligently researching, teaching and continuing to make positive contributions to the educational career of the school. Hanoi National University of Education is a university with its own identity and according to Associate Professor Nguyen Huu Xi - former Vice President of Hanoi National University of Education - what makes Hanoi National University of Education valuable and prestigious is that it has both training and research fields of Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Sciences. The fields of study have supplemented and enriched the comprehensive knowledge, thinking and scientific methods of a large university. On behalf of the leaders of VNU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - President of VNU - sincerely thanked the former leaders of the University of General Sciences through the periods who built a solid foundation for VNU to develop. At the same time, he affirmed that VNU is determined to inherit and promote the tradition of VNU.
