On March 2, 2015, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) had the honor of welcoming Professor Matsuoka Eiji from Gakugei University, Japan, who donated the Han Tu Hai book series to the University. Also present were representatives from the Department of Han Nom Studies, the Faculty of Literature, the Center for Korean Studies, and the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is one of the leading institutions for training in Chinese studies in Vietnam. Therefore, the University is honored to receive this set of books as a valuable reference material for research and training on the Chinese language, as well as Chinese civilization and that of other countries in the region. According to the Vice Rector, as a country bordering and heavily influenced by China, Vietnam has a greater need to study China and the relationship between countries in the Sinicized region. Therefore, this set of books is a very meaningful gift for the University's staff and lecturers.University of Social Sciences and Humanities.In addition, the Vice Principal also expressed a desire to establish a cooperative relationship with Gakugei University.

Professor Matsuoka Eiji expressed his pleasure at visiting the University to present the Hanzi Hai dictionary. This massive three-volume dictionary, compiled with contributions from professors and researchers in various East Asian countries, contains twice the number of words compared to the Kangxi Dictionary and includes vocabulary from other East Asian countries besides China. Furthermore, he endorsed the idea of ​​establishing future cooperation with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to lay the groundwork for a future network of universities in East Asia.

Gakugei University was founded in 1873 and offers a wide range of disciplines including education, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, with the arts being a top priority for the university.
