Nguyen Thanh Ly (Contestant No. 46, K54 student of the Psychology Department) was crowned Miss Elegant Student of the 5th University of Social Sciences and Humanities Contest in 2011.Under the name Miss Gralent, this year's competition once again aimed to celebrate the harmonious blend of intellect, soul, and appearance among female students studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. After more than six weeks of preparation, on the evening of December 9, 2011, the 15 finalists participated in a vibrant competition at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural Center, with enthusiastic support from over 1000 spectators.
The final night was heated from the very first minutes with an Open Dancing performance by all 15 contestants. This was followed by rounds of performances in traditional Vietnamese ao dai, evening gowns, and finally, the Q&A segment for the five most talented and beautiful contestants. In the end, Nguyen Thanh Ly (contestant number 46) was crowned the new Miss University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Tran Thi Quynh Trang (contestant number 78, K55 International Studies) won the title of First Runner-up; and Bui Thi Thuy Linh (contestant number 41, K56 Advanced Literature) won the title of Second Runner-up.
