At the invitation of universities in New Zealand and Australia, a delegation from the university, led by Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector - visited and worked with Auckland University of Technology, Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) and the University of New SouthWales (Australia) from December 10th to 16th, 2011.On December 12, 2011, Professor Niegel Hamilton, Vice-Chancellor of Auckland University of Technology, received a delegation from the university. The two universities signed a cooperation agreement covering student exchange, faculty exchange, seminar organization, and joint training programs. During the meeting, both sides also agreed to implement the following cooperation programs: Organizing English language classes for staff of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- Develop a 2+2 Bachelor's degree program in Tourism Management with a degree awarded by Auckland University of Technology.
- Coordinate the organization of a short-term course on Event Management at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- Co-organize a workshop on coastal tourism in Vietnam.
- Develop research programs on Public Policy
- The University of Social Sciences and Humanities supports the development of a Vietnamese Studies training program at Auckland University of Technology.
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) currently has 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, publishes 800 scientific papers annually, and is one of the leading universities in New Zealand's education system. On December 15, 2011, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh visited and worked with Victoria University of Wellington. Professor Rob Rabel (Vice President of Victoria University of Wellington), along with professors from the Faculty of Applied Languages and Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Administration, received the delegation and discussed areas of cooperation, including:
- Collaborate in developing joint training programs for Bachelor's degrees (1.5+2 years) and Master's degrees in Public Policy and Public Management, with degrees awarded by Victoria University.
- Help provide English language training for staff of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- Collaborative research in Psychology
Victoria University – Wellington is one of the leading universities in New Zealand and ranks among the top 300 universities in the world according to QS rankings. The total number of undergraduate and postgraduate students is 22,310, including 2,500 international students. Following visits and working sessions at two leading universities in New Zealand, on December 15th, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh traveled to Australia and on December 16th visited the Korea Institute at the University of New South Wales (Australia) to discuss cooperation plans for the period 2011-2015. Over the past five years (2006-2010), the university has collaborated with the Korea Institute on research programs on administrative reform in comparison with Southeast Asian countries and Korea. In addition, the two sides also discussed plans to organize a seminar on administrative reform and Korean studies in Hanoi, tentatively scheduled for August 2012, with the participation of leading universities in Southeast Asia, the Central Institute for Korean Studies, and the Korea Foundation. The visit and working trip of the university delegation was a great success, opening up new avenues of cooperation, building international-standard joint training programs, and further promoting cooperative relations between the university and universities in Australia and New Zealand.
