The group of authors from the Faculty of Linguistics received the Award from the Association of Vietnamese Teachers of Vietnam

The group of authors Tran Tri Doi, Trieu Phuc Xuan, Trieu Thi Nga with "On the work Dang Hanh and Ban Dai Hoi of the Dao people in Thanh Hoa" was awarded the Second Prize B of the Central Vietnam Folklore Association in 2008. This is the work of transcribing the Nom Dao text and translating into Vietnamese the famous poem "Dang Hanh and Ban Dai Hoi" of the Dao people in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam.

Professor Tran Tri Doi is currently the Head of the Faculty of Linguistics, Head of the Department of Languages ​​and Cultures of Vietnamese Ethnic Minorities. Trieu Thi Nga is a Dao ethnic group who graduated with a Bachelor of Literature Pedagogy (major in Linguistics) in 2007. Trieu Phuc Xuan is a Dao ethnic intellectual in Thanh Hoa. This is an effective cooperation between scientists working at the University and local ethnic intellectuals in training university-level students for Vietnamese ethnic minorities.

“Dang Hanh and Ban Dai Hoi” is a 7-word poem of the Dao people, consisting of 632 verses, recording the migration history of this ethnic group from the 10th century to the present through many different lands in southern China and northern Vietnam. The translation of this work provides important materials for the study of folk literature and the history of linguistics.

The 2008 National Scientific Works Award Ceremony of the Vietnam Folklore Arts Association was held on December 26, 2008, at the National Assembly Office Guest House Hall (27A Tran Hung Dao). The Association awarded 62 awards to the most outstanding works, including 8 Second Prizes (1 Second Prize A, 7 Second Prize B), 31 Third Prizes, 23 Encouragement Prizes and 8 gifts. This year, the highest (Second Prize A) and only award was given to the collection "Khất thống đầm" (Singing to see off the soul) of the Tay people in Upper Bang La, Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai province, collected, translated and researched by author Ha Dinh Ti.

The annual award of the Vietnam Folklore Association is given to research projects on preserving Vietnam's folk culture that are completed during the year. Professor Tran Tri Doi received the Encouragement Prize in 1995 (project "Folk Tales of the Nguon People"), 1996 (research project "Are the Arem, Ruc and Ma Lieng ethnic groups in Quang Binh disappearing?") and Third Prize B in 1998 (research project "Language and development of traditional culture of Vietnamese ethnic minorities").
