Announcement of the 2nd Workshop on “Research and Teaching of Vietnamese and Chinese Language and Culture in East and Southeast Asia”

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Guangxi University for Nationalities (China) will organize this conference on November 6th and 7th, 2009 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The conference provides an opportunity for researchers and educators in Vietnamese and Chinese languages ​​and cultures to present their research findings and teaching experiences in areas related to the conference theme; it also creates opportunities for them to network and exchange academic ideas with colleagues. The conference also serves as a platform for professionals to meet and discuss ways to enhance collaborative research and teaching between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Guangxi University for Nationalities in China, as well as between other educational institutions in East and Southeast Asia.

The reports submitted to the conference will be arranged for presentation in four specialized subcommittees:

1. Research on Vietnamese language and culture,
2. Studying Chinese language and culture,
3. Teaching Vietnamese language and culture.
4. Teaching Chinese language and culture.

This is an international scientific conference held every two years, alternating between Vietnam and China (the first was held at Guangxi Nationalities University - China in November 2007).

The Organizing Committee of the Conference cordially invites scientists and educators from research and teaching institutions specializing in Vietnamese and Chinese language and culture to participate by submitting papers and attending the Conference. The Organizing Committee expresses its gratitude and hopes to receive a positive response from a large number of researchers and educators in Vietnamese and Chinese language and culture from Vietnam, China, and internationally.

The main languages ​​used in the workshop were Vietnamese and Chinese.

• The deadline for submitting the full scientific report is September 20, 2009.
