On December 5 and 6, 2008, the seminar "Exchanging experiences in training, research and policy making in the integration period" co-organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Germany) took place at Le Van Thiem Hall (No. 18 Le Thanh Tong - Hanoi).
On December 5 and 6, 2008, the seminar "Exchanging experiences in training, research and policy making in the integration period" co-organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Germany) took place at Le Van Thiem Hall (No. 18 Le Thanh Tong - Hanoi).
Many policy-making experts from Vietnam, Germany, and the UK participated in discussions and shared theoretical and practical experiences on the training, research, policy development and implementation process in Vietnam based on comparison and reference with many other developed countries in the world.
Some main discussion topics at the workshop:
- Training to manage policies in constantly changing conditions;
- The relationship between state power agencies and state administrative agencies in policy making and promulgation;
- Civil society and policy thinking;
- Legitimize policy decisions during the transition;
- International integration experience: adjusting Vietnam's science and technology strategy;
- Some social aspects impact on training, research and policy making;
- Analysis of environment and policy actors in Vietnam;
- Some characteristics in bilingual education policy planning in ethnic minority areas in Vietnam.

This is one of the activities of the Policy Research Project – funded by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, which began in late 2002. The project's objective is to focus on researching the economic, social and cultural foundations of the policy-making process, especially in the field of educational science.
