Maximizing the intelligence and creativity of young people to implement Youth Month 2022.

Attending the program were Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee; Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union; Comrade Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union; and Comrade Ngo Van Cuong - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union.

Speaking at the ceremony, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union Nguyen Anh Tuan said that the 2022 Youth Month has a very special significance, taking place in the second year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, in the context of the entire Party, people, and army striving to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic, both preventing the spread of the disease and restoring and developing the economy. In particular, this is the year of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 11th National Congress of the Youth Union. “Therefore, the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Youth Union chose this year's theme as 'Creative Youth,' aiming to strongly promote this quality of youth, contributing to creating projects, tasks, products, and ideas of youth participating in socio-economic development and national defense, joining forces with the community,” Comrade Tuan said.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

To accomplish many meaningful and practical projects and tasks during Youth Month, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, suggested that Youth Union members and young people nationwide should maximize their intelligence and creativity to implement four key activity groups suitable to the conditions of their localities and units.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan suggested that all levels of the Youth Union should focus on decisive solutions to complete the work targets set during the 11th National Congress of the Youth Union; the goals, targets, and tasks identified in the Youth Union's work program and youth movement in 2022; and the contents, tasks, and solutions in the Youth Union's action program to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party. In addition, it is necessary to research and pilot some new models and activities starting from Youth Month in 2022; thereby providing material for synthesizing and proposing new work contents that are suitable to the needs and aspirations of young people, creating a foundation for effectively implementing the Youth Union's work and youth movement in the next term. "For each specific field, youth must actively, responsibly, and effectively participate in activities, projects, and tasks related to economic recovery and development, contributing to ensuring national defense and security at the local level and within their units; focusing on the grassroots, having a widespread impact, and attracting the active participation of youth and the wider community."

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, assessed that the theme "Creative Youth" demonstrates a high level of action and the pioneering role of young people, creating new spaces and motivations for youth to promote their pioneering and creative roles in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and proactively integrating into the international community.

The Head of the Central Committee's Department of Mass Mobilization requested that units prioritize and promote activities to educate young people about revolutionary ideals, traditions, patriotism, and national pride. Youth Union branches at all levels should maximize the spirit and creativity of young people, be pioneers in researching and applying achievements, and effectively utilize the positive aspects of the fourth industrial revolution; and actively participate in the national digital transformation process.

In particular, young people participate in social welfare activities, serving the people and contributing to national development; they actively participate in the Government's COVID-19 vaccination campaign aimed at "safely and flexibly adapting to and effectively controlling the epidemic, while simultaneously preventing and controlling the disease and restoring and developing the economy and society."

Comrade Hoai also suggested that all levels of the Youth Union should focus on building a strong Union in terms of ideology, politics, organization, and action, worthy of being a reliable reserve force of the Party. In particular, special attention should be paid to the quality of Youth Union cadres, creating a pool of young cadres with sufficient qualities, capabilities, and prospects to be introduced into the leadership bodies of the Party and government. “From the vibrant and rich practical experience of Youth Month, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union needs to identify new factors and advanced models to nurture, develop, select, and introduce many outstanding members for the Party to consider for admission, supplementing the Party's young vitality.”

During Youth Month 2022, four key areas of activity will be prioritized: promoting and educating about the glorious traditions of Vietnamese youth and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; organizing activities to foster creativity and volunteerism for the community among young people; organizing activities to support young people in starting businesses, establishing careers, and integrating into the international community; caring for and supporting young people; and building a strong Youth Union and expanding the front of solidarity and gathering of young people.

Students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are proud to be among the representatives of the youth of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, attending the Launch Ceremony of Youth Month 2022. In addition, six students from disadvantaged backgrounds with outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements were also honored to receive scholarships from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Union.
