Annual Conference of Trade Union of Cluster 5 Universities in 2022

Attending the conference were representatives of the leaders of 5 schools: Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa, Secretary of the Party Committee - Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tung, Vice Rector of the University of Civil Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee - Chairman of the Council of the National Economics University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Dang Chinh - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hoang Linh - Secretary of the Party Committee - Rector of the University of Natural Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang - Vice Rector of the University of Natural Sciences; Dr. Bui Duc Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Representatives of the Trade Union of Cluster 5 Schools include Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh, President of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Dr. Bui Duc Hung, President of the Trade Union of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoang Lien, President of the Trade Union of the University of Natural Sciences; Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Ngoc Khoa, President of the Trade Union of the University of Construction; Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong, President of the Trade Union of the National Economics University, and 50 delegates representing the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Cluster 5 Schools.

The conference received 11 reports, of which 05 were presented at the conference: Dr. Vu Huy Khue from Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the topic "The role of trade unions in creating motivation for staff and employees at Hanoi University of Science and Technology"; Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao from Hanoi University of Construction discussed "The role of trade unions in creating motivation for staff and employees at Hanoi University of Construction"; Dr. Can Anh Tuan from National Economics University discussed the topic "Applying Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory to create motivation for university lecturers"; Dr. Le Huu Tuyen from University of Natural Sciences discussed the topic "Empowering autonomy in scientific research and teaching: a perspective from a component of motivation in universities" and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Luot from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities concluded the discussion at the Conference with a presentation on the topic "Measures to motivate university lecturers".

The discussion has suggested a number of contents revolving around the topic of creating motivation for civil servants and employees. From multi-dimensional perspectives, the presentations have pointed out the specificity of the subjects, areas of expertise, and job positions to have solutions to create motivation suitable for each unit. There are general perspectives but also very specific perspectives to clearly see the specificity of the issue of creating motivation for employees in the scientific environment. In particular, the trade union, as an important political and social organization, has the role of "caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees", what is the perspective on the issue of creating motivation for employees? How will the trade union participate in creating motivation for employees? was deeply analyzed and explained by the presentations.

The delegates also listened to the opinions of the leaders of the 5 schools, acknowledging and appreciating the content of the discussion as well as the role of the trade union in the school's activities. The trade union has been proactive in developing plans, consulting, coordinating with the school's leaders, maximizing the role of the trade union in protecting the rights of civil servants and employees, contributing to motivating civil servants and employees to work, contributing to building the school to develop more and more.

The conference witnessed the handover of the right to host union activities for the 2022-2023 school year to the University of Science Trade Union./.
