They are four famous female scientists who have made great contributions to research and teaching at the former Hanoi University of Science and the later University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Hoang Thi Chau graduated from Lomonosov University (Russia) in 1962, and received a PhD in Literature from Humboldt University (German Democratic Republic) in 1980. She was Head of the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University from 1983 to 1993. An expert in Dialectology, Place Names and Historical Linguistics, Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Hoang Thi Chau was a visiting lecturer at Humboldt University (German Democratic Republic) (1975-1980) and Peking University (China) (1996-1997). She is the first female professor of Linguistics in Vietnam and was honored to be awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology in 2005 for her work.Vietnamese in all regions of the country(1989).

Associate Professor, Meritorious Student Pham Thi Tam works at the Department of Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History, Faculty of History, Hanoi National University. She specializes in researching the History of Resistance War against Foreign Aggression, History and Cultural History of Vietnam. Her typical research works are onHistory of Vietnamese feudal regime, 1962 (wrote one chapter);Some comments on private land in Vietnam during the Ly - Tran period, and especiallyThe resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol invasion in the 13th century(written with Professor, People's Teacher Ha Van Tan) - the book "became one of the classic works of Vietnamese History... praised by famous scholars Hoang Xuan Han, Hoai Thanh and considered "a masterpiece of history" (late Associate Professor, Doctor of Science, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Hai Ke). This work was awarded the 1st VNU Science and Technology Award - 2006.

People's Teacher Le Hong Sam was Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Literature, Faculty of Literature (1965-1970); Head of the Department of French Literature (Hanoi University) (1970-1988). She is an expert in French literature and was awarded the Order of Academic Palms by the French Government in 2013 for her contributions in this field.

Associate Professor Dang Thi Hanh is an expert in French and Western Literature. She received the French Republic's Academic Palm Medal in 2013. In response to the School's attention to veteran teachers, Associate Professor Dang Thi Hanh expressed her gratitude and wished the School to always develop and maintain its position as the cradle of academic studies in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam.
