Professor Nguyen Van Kim visits veteran teachers on the occasion of November 20th.

On November 18, 2018, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University) and Dr. Nguyen Van Thuy (Vice President of the University's Trade Union) visited the veteran teachers of the University, including Professor People's Teacher Ha Van Tan, Associate Professor Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Thua Hy, and Associate Professor People's Teacher Hoang Van Khoan.

Professor Nguyen Van Kim visits veteran teachers on the occasion of November 20th.

Professor Nguyen Van Kim respectfully conveyed the profound gratitude of the entire faculty and students of the University to the professors. As scientists belonging to the generation that laid the foundation for the development of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, especially during a difficult period for the country, their intellect and dedication to science and the cause of education have always been admired and respected by subsequent generations. Their names and contributions will forever remain invaluable assets in the more than 70-year history of the University.

Visiting Professor and People's Teacher Ha Van Tan

Professor Ha Van Tan, a People's Teacher, is one of the four leading figures in Vietnamese historical science: "Lam - Le - Tan - Vuong". He was recognized as a Professor in 1980 and awarded the title of People's Teacher in 1997. Working at the University from 1957 to 1998, he served as Head of the Department of Historical Methodology, Faculty of History (1982-2009). He also held the position of Director of the Institute of Archaeology (Vietnam Academy of Science) (1988-2008). His research areas include Archaeology, Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History, Historical Theory, Linguistics, Buddhism, History of Thought, Cultural Studies, and Anthropology. He was honored with the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Science and Technology in 2000 for his work.Following the trail of ancient cultures.

Visiting Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Thua Hy

Associate Professor, Doctor of Science, Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Thua Hy is an expert in Vietnamese cultural history, especially the history of Thang Long - Hanoi. He was the Deputy Head of the Department of Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History, Faculty of History from 1995 to 2000. His notable scientific works include:Learn about Indian culture.;Thang Long - Hanoi in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries;Socio-economic conditions of Thang Long - Hanoi in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.;Documents on the cultural heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi: A collection of Western documents;Traditional Vietnamese culture, a perspectiveHe was awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology in 2010 for his work.Thang Long - Hanoi in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.

Visiting Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Van Khoan

Associate Professor, People's Teacher Hoang Van Khoan He is an expert in Vietnamese archaeology, with main research areas including: Archaeological cultures in Vietnam; Physiognomy and metallurgical techniques; Historical archaeology of the Vietnamese people; History of Vietnamese architecture and sculpture; and Numological studies. He was the Vice Dean of the Faculty of History from 1977 to 1986. His notable scientific works include:The mysteries of the earth's interior; Co Loa - The convergence center of Red River civilization; A handbook of ancient metal coins of Vietnam, China, Japan, and France circulating in Vietnam from the beginning of the Common Era to 1975 (co-authored); Numological studies and ancient Vietnamese coins (editor-in-chief).

The delegation also visited the home of the late Associate Professor and People's Teacher Nguyen Van Hong to offer incense.
