Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan is working in Thailand.

From August 3rd to 10th, 2017, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan led a delegation including leaders from the Faculty of Linguistics and representatives from the International Training Department and the Training Office on a recruitment trip to five universities in Thailand. The trip was a great success and is hoped to open up many opportunities for cooperation in university education with Thai universities in the future.

Kasetsart University

On the morning of August 4, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh (Head of the Linguistics Department), and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh (Deputy Head of the Linguistics Department) held a working session with representatives and students from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Suppakarn Pongyelar, representing the Faculty of Social Sciences, proposed the possibility of cooperation in student and faculty exchange programs, as well as short-term ASEAN study tours. The Faculty of Social Sciences at Kasetsart University currently offers Vietnamese language programs and plans to send students for short-term study and internships in the near future. Kasetsart University is among the top 10 universities in Thailand, ranked 129th in Asia, and 701st in the world (according to topuniversities.com 2017).

Chulalongkorn University

On August 5, 2017, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan continued his working visit to Chulalongkorn University. Professor Bhawan Ruangsilp, Head of the History Department, School of Social Sciences, welcomed the delegation. The two sides discussed possibilities for cooperation in student and faculty exchange programs, historical research, ASEAN studies, and short-term Vietnamese language training. Chulalongkorn University is ranked first among all universities in Thailand, 252nd in the world, and 45th in Asia (according to topuniversities.com 2017).

Thammasart University

On August 7th, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan held a working meeting at Thammasart University, Rangsit campus, Bangkok, Thailand. The delegation was received by Vice Rector Pornchai Tarkulwaranont, in charge of International Cooperation, and representatives from the Social Sciences Faculties and related units. The two sides discussed cooperation in Vietnamese language training, student exchange in Southeast Asian Studies, and scholar exchange for research. Thammasart University is one of the top three universities in Thailand (after Chulalongkorn University and Mahidol University), ranked 101st in Asia and 601-650th in the world.

Mahasarakham University

On the morning of August 8, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh (Head of the Linguistics Department) led a delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to visit and work with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahasarakham University (Northeast region, Thailand). During the meeting, representatives from both faculties expressed their desire for cooperation by proposing to send Vietnamese language students to Hanoi for study in 2018, implementing short-term study tour programs, and opening up various forms of exchange, creating opportunities for students from both universities to study and experience abroad. In recent years, Mahasarakham University has gradually become a center for Vietnamese language training in Thailand, annually recruiting 40-60 undergraduate students in Vietnamese language.

Ubon Ratchathani University

On the morning of August 9th, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Head of the Faculty of Linguistics, continued his visit to Ubon Ratchathani University (Ubon Ratchathani Province, Northeast Thailand). The delegation was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Professor Sirintip Boonmee, the Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Preeyaporn Charoenbutra, along with representatives from the Faculty of History, the Faculty of Political Science, and the Vietnamese and English departments. During the 2017-2018 academic year, Ubon Ratchathani University will send 19 Vietnamese language majors to study Vietnamese at the Faculty of Linguistics. At the meeting, representatives from both universities proposed several cooperation programs such as student exchange programs for credit transfer, faculty exchange, joint seminar organization, and English-language study tours.
