Receive and work with the new Ambassador of Israel to Vietnam

On September 1, 2017, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU) and representatives of the Department of Cooperation and Development had a meeting and worked with Mr. Nadav Eshcar, the new Ambassador of Israel to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh introduced the main achievements in training, scientific research and the main research directions of the School; emphasizing the goal of promoting the internationalization strategy through the development of subjects taught in English and expanding relations with international partners. The Rector hopes that the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam will be the link between the School and Israeli universities.

In response, Mr. Nadav Eshcar thanked the USSH for its warm welcome. He said that the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam is always ready to support the University in connecting with Israeli universities, especially in activities such as organizing seminars, exhibitions, and exchanges between Vietnamese and Israeli students. He also wants to disseminate information and knowledge about his country to the University's students and Vietnamese students in general, especially in the context of celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-Israel relations next year.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated Mr. Nadav Eshcar's proposals and committed that the University always welcomes the presence and contributions of the Ambassador in particular and the Israeli Embassy in general in academic exchange activities as well as exhibitions and introductions of Israeli history, culture and society. Regarding Ambassador Nadav Eshcar in particular, the University invited him to participate in seminars organized by the University such as the Seminar on "One Belt, One Road" on October 6. Mr. Nadav Eshcar happily accepted the invitation.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, together with the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam, organized many activities such as the presentation on "Anne Frank - A History for Today" on November 21, 2016, and the screening of a film commemorating the victims of the Holocaust on February 17, 2017. These activities were attended by a large number of staff, lecturers and students of the University as well as representatives of the Embassy of Israel.
