Students of University of Social Sciences and Humanities receive Lotte scholarships

On September 18, 2012, Lotte Foundation held a scholarship awarding ceremony for university students in Hanoi for the 2012-2013 school year. This is the 10th time Lotte Group has awarded scholarships to 46 students with excellent academic achievements from the following universities: Hanoi National University (University of Foreign Languages, University of Economics, University of Social Sciences & Humanities), Hanoi University, Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Construction, National Economics University...At the same time, this is the first year that the Lotte Scholarship Fund is for technical fields such as electronics and telecommunications, construction, information technology instead of only for cultural, linguistic, and economic fields like previous years. In Hanoi, the total value of scholarships for the 2012-2013 school year for universities is 27,600 USD. At the ceremony, Mr. Lee Jong Kook - General Director of Lotte Center Hanoi - congratulated the students with excellent achievements, and he also encouraged them to strive harder for their own future as well as for the future of the country. Mr. Lee also said that Mr. Shin Kyuk Ho - Founder and Chairman of Lotte Group is always interested in investment activities and support for education, not only in Korea but also in countries where the group operates, including Vietnam - one of the most important and target markets. Through this scholarship program, Lotte Group hopes to contribute to the good friendship between Korea and Vietnam. Lotte representatives also expressed their hope that excellent students will work at the Group's subsidiaries in the near future. In Korea, Lotte is the 5th largest economic group. With the ambition of becoming one of the 10 largest global economic groups in Asia by 2018, Lotte is expanding its operations in many countries around the world, of which Vietnam is one of the important investment markets.
